SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic -- The lawyer for Valdimir Guerrero says a local prosecutor has decided that no charges will be filed against the former major leaguer after authorities contended he attacked a police officer in a disco. Guerrero denied being involved.
Guerrero's lawyer Polivio Rivas said on Wednesday that the local prosecutor would not be pressing charges the case.
The prosecutor in Bani, where the alleged incident took place, could not be reached immediately for comment by the Associated Press.
Guerrero, who finished last season with the Baltimore Orioles, turned himself in early Tuesday and has strongly denied he was involved.
