--LHP Evan Crawford was promoted from Class AA New Hampshire when RHP Sergio Santos went home to California to be with his wife for the birth of their third child. "Greatest baby ever," Crawford said. Crawford, 25, is 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA in three appearances for the Fisher Cats, pitching four innings allowing three hits with two walks. He has five strikeouts.
--SS Yunel Escobar hit his first homer of the season and has reached base in 12 consecutive games against Baltimore, batting .413 (19-for-46) during that span. In 32 career games against Baltimore he is batting .359 (47-for-131) with five home runs and 21 RBI.
--2B Kelly Johnson hit his second home run of the season in the first inning against RHP Tommy Hunter. Johnson has had a hit in six of the Blue Jays' seven games this season and has reached base in all seven of them.
--RF Jose Bautista singled in the fourth inning and scored on LF Nolan Reimold's error on 1B Adam Lind's sinking liner. The hit ended Bautista's 0-for-12 batting drought. He also walked and was 1-for-3. He is batting .192.
--RHP Brandon Morrow allowed six hits, including two solo home runs, and four runs in seven innings in a no-decision in the Blue Jays' 7-5 loss to the Orioles. He has pitched seven innings in four his last five starts going back to last season.
