Zimmerman aims for Tuesday return

--3B Ryan Zimmerman return has been pushed back to Tuesday at Pittsburgh, according to manager Davey Johnson. He will be eligible to come off the disabled list Sunday. Zimmerman, recovering from right shoulder inflammation, is expected to hit off a tee Friday. He has had no problems in workouts throwing a baseball, but he does feel a little discomfort swinging a bat.

--RHP Chien-Ming Wang will make his second rehab start Thursday at Class AA Harrisburg. Wang, recovering from left hamstring injury suffered midway through spring training, threw four innings and 49 pitches for Class A Potomac on Saturday. He gave up one run on four hits.

--OF Bryce Harper started in center field Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, batting seventh again. Harper has alternated between left field and center field in his first four games and is now 5-for-13 (.385) in the big leagues after collecting three hits, including two doubles, in the 5-4 victory over Arizona.

--OF Xavier Nady started in left field Wednesday, and he went 0-for-3, lowering his average to .123. Manager Davey Johnson said LF Tyler Moore will get limited at-bats as a pinch hitter or as a substitute. Moore went 0-for-1 after entering in a double switch.

--2B Danny Espinosa continues to struggle at the plate, and manager Davey Johnson has dropped him in the order from second to sixth. Espinosa is batting .188 (16-for-85) with three extra-base hits and two RBI.

--RHP Stephen Strasburg was named NL Pitcher of the Month for April. He went 2-0 with a 1.13 ERA in five starts, striking out a league-best 34 and walking only six. Teammate RHP Jordan Zimmermann (1-2, 1.89) also received votes.

6 -- Come-from-behind wins the Nationals have earned in 2012, following Ian Desmond's two-run, walk-off homer Wednesday in a 5-4 victory over the Diamondbacks. Desmond went deep off J.J. Putz with two outs in the bottom of the ninth.
