DENVER -- Left-hander Jorge De La Rosa's comeback from Tommy John surgery hit a speed bump Saturday when the Colorado Rockies decided to shut him down because of tightness in his left forearm.

De La Rosa had been on pace to return to the Rockies' rotation on June 2, which is a day shy of the one-year anniversary of his operation. But he's dealt with forearm tightness following his past two minor-league outings.

So, he will be able to pitch again on May 26, when a new 30-day clock starts ticking on his minor-league rehab, although he could return to the Rockies at any point during that time frame.

De La Rosa said he was disappointed by the decision but understands the Rockies are just being cautious.
