--CF Franklin Gutierrez played a full nine innings Monday for Class AAA Tacoma on his rehab assignment, going 2-for-4. He is 4-for-12 (.333) with four walks through four games. The reports were that Gutierrez (right pectoral muscle injury and additional foot problems) came out of Monday's game feeling good.

--RHP Felix Hernandez won't pitch again until at least Sunday. Hernandez, who is dealing with ongoing back pain, is scheduled to throw on the side Wednesday, then throw a bullpen session Thursday or Friday. If all goes well, he could start Sunday against the Dodgers. In the meanwhile, RHP Hector Noesi pitches for Hernandez on Wednesday on short rest.

BY THE NUMBERS
7 -- Consecutive games in which the Mariners have hit a homer after CF Michael Saunders went deep Tuesday. That's a season high for Seattle and the longest streak for the team since 2009.
