Perez goes 5-for-5 in second minor league rehab game

--C Salvador Perez, who started a rehab assignment Thursday with Class AAA Omaha, went 5-for-5 and scored four runs Friday as the Storm Chasers beat Round Rock 11-5. Perez went on the disabled list at the end of spring training after having left knee surgery.

--LHP Jonathan Sanchez made his third minor league rehab start Friday night for Class AAA Omaha and picked up the victory. In five innings against Round Rock, Sanchez allowed three runs on five hits and two walks, striking out five. Sanchez threw 78 pitches, 46 for strikes. He is on the disabled list due to left biceps tendinitis.

--RHP Luke Hochevar lost his fourth consecutive decision Friday night, 4-2 to the Pirates. Hochevar surrendered four earned runs on nine hits in six innings, walking one and striking out three. He is now 3-7 with a 6.57 ERA.

--RF Eric Hosmer went 1-for-3 with a walk to extend his hitting streak to 10 games. Hosmer is 11-for-34 (.324) during the streak to raise his average to .221.

--2B Chris Getz, who is rehabbing with Class AAA Omaha, went 2-for-5 with a triple and two RBI on Friday. Getz has been on the disabled list since May 22 due to a bruised left ribcage.

--LHP Everett Teaford, who is rehabbing an abdominal injury with Class AAA Omaha, started Thursday night against Round Rock and allowed one run in two innings. He threw 30 pitches, 18 for strikes. The big news from that game, however, was that Omaha OF Wil Myers hit a grand slam off Roy Oswalt in the Storm Chasers' victory.

0-29 -- The Royals' record when trailing after eight innings.

"I'm glad we're not facing him there." -- Royals manager Ned Yost, whose team will go against Brewers RHP Zack Greinke on Tuesday at Kauffman Stadium. Greinke is 15-0 with a 2.47 ERA at Miller Park.
