Mets put righty Hefner on paternity list, send for Carson from Triple-A Buffalo wire reports

NEW YORK -- The New York Mets have put right-hander Jeremy Hefner on the paternity leave list and recalled lefty Robert Carson from the minors.

The Mets made the moves before Tuesday night's game against Colorado.

Hefner and his wife, Sarah, are expecting their second child. Hefner is 2-5 with a 5.11 ERA in 19 games.

Carson was 0-0 with one save and a 1.72 ERA at Triple-A Buffalo. He pitched two games for the Mets earlier this season.
