--RHP Yu Darvish, who was scratched from his scheduled start on Tuesday with a stiff neck, was cleared to pitch on Sunday. Darvish threw a bullpen session on Friday with no issues.
--RHP Ryan Dempster did nothing on Friday to change the notion that he struggles against the better teams in the AL. His 5.2 inning, four-run effort against Los Angeles was his "best" of three starts vs. the Angels since he was acquired by Texas. Dempster is 1-3 with an 8.46 ERA in five starts against teams that currently have a winning record; he's 6-0 with a 2.62 ERA against teams with losing records.
--RHP Koji Uehara pitched a perfect inning on Friday to extend his streak of consecutive batters retired to 20 over his last 11 appearances. Uehara has struck out 12 of those 20 batters, including two on Friday.
--OF Nelson Cruz had a sacrifice fly and a home run on Friday to push him to 88 RBI for the season. It's a career high. Cruz has already set a career high for games played. He's at 153, the first time he's played more than 140 games.
--3B Adrian Beltre reached 100 RBI for the year with a two-run homer (his 36th of the season). It is his third consecutive 100-RBI seasons.
BY THE NUMBERS

QUOTE TO NOTE
"I love our manager, and I'd love it even more if somebody would make him Manager of the Year." -- OF Josh Hamilton, on manager Ron Washington, who has never won AL Manager of the Year despite three consecutive 90-win seasons.
