Giants activate INF Abreu from DL

PHOENIX (AP) - The San Francisco Giants have activated infielder Tony Abreu from the 60-day disabled list and optioned infielder Nick Noonan to Triple-A Fresno.

The Giants also transferred right-hander Ryan Vogelsong to the 60-day disabled list with a broken hand. He had surgery after breaking several bones in his pitching hand while batting against the Washington Nationals on May 20.

Abreu was claimed off waivers from Kansas City before the season, but has been out because of a sprained left knee and a strained quadriceps.

Noonan, a rookie, has hit .203 with three RBIs in 37 games with the Giants this season.
