Red Sox activate Williamson, send Dominique to Triple-A

BOSTON -- The Boston Red Sox activated relief pitcher Scott Williamson off the 15-day disabled list before Friday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Fenway Park.

Williamson, who is 0-0 with one save and a 1.69 ERA entering Friday's action, was out with right elbow inflammation since May 19.

In seven seasons with the Red Sox and Cincinnati, Williamson owns a 25-23 record with a 3.06 ERA To make room on the roster, Boston sent first baseman Andy Dominique to Triple-A Pawtucket. In six games, Dominique hit just .200 with one RBI in 10 at-bats.
