Red Sox sign veteran lefty Halama for one year
BOSTON -- John Halama and the Boston Red Sox finalized a one-year contract Wednesday.
The left-hander was 7-6 with a 4.70 ERA in 34 games for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays last season, striking out 59 and walking 27 while allowing 17 homers in 118 2/3 innings. He is 53-43 with a 4.52 ERA in seven major-league seasons.
