Twins put veteran DH Sierra on DL with strained biceps

DETROIT -- Minnesota Twins designated hitter Ruben Sierra was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left biceps on Sunday.

He is scheduled to have a MRI test on Monday, said manager Ron Gardenhire. Sierra was injured while swinging at a pitch in Saturday's 18-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers.

To replace Sierra on the roster, Minnesota recalled pitcher Dennys Reyes from Triple-A Rochester.
