Miller's prediction: Albert Pujols, St. Louis. In the prediction
business, this might be the most difficult of all. Philadelphia's Ryan
Howard closed so quickly with his prodigious home-run pace that he no
doubt will make a good run at this thing. In fact, in my
end-of-the-season awards column, I listed Howard as my MVP, the thinking
being that he almost single-handedly kept the Phillies in contention
until season's end all by himself. Pujols, though, remains the heir to
Barry Bonds' throne as the game's most dangerous overall hitter. And I
think he'll garner enough support for a second consecutive NL MVP award.
