Angels outfielder Mike Trout provided his team's only offense Tuesday, going 1 for 4 with a two-run home run in his team's 4-2 loss to the Orioles.

Trout was one of only two Angels to get a hit in the game, and while his hit sailed over the outfield fence for a home run, it wasn't enough to avoid the loss. He has hit .309/.395/.610 with 24 home runs, 76 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 369 at-bats.

As expected, Erick Aybar is back in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Orioles, after recovering from a groin strain.

Aybar missed three games in a row as a result of the injury, but was available off the bench Monday and was expected to return Tuesday. He has a 10-game hitting streak active heading into Thursday's action.

Athletics infielder Alberto Callaspo could return as soon as Sunday, according to the Bay Area News Group

Callaspo could go on a quick rehab assignment depending on whether he can avoid any setbacks with his hamstring. Manager Bob Melvin mentioned Sunday as a possible return date for Callaspo. In 282 at-bats, Callaspo is hitting .234/.308/.309.

News
Though Angels pitcher Garrett Richards is on pace to shatter his previous career high in innings, the team is not planning to temporarily shut him down to limit his workload, MLB.com reports.

"Not at all," general manager Jerry Dipoto said Monday. "Garrett has thrown from end to end in a season. His innings have not escalated to the point where they're 200-plus, but Garrett throws the ball as easily as anybody you'll ever see. It's not a violent delivery, it's not a violent package. He maintains velocity pretty easily."

Richards has been at the top of his game since the start of June, going 7-0 with a 1.25 ERA and 70:17 K:BB ratio in 64 2/3 innings over nine starts. He hasn't pitched more than 154 innings in a season during his career, but Richards is already at 131 1/3 innings this year and has the potential to reach 200 innings if no limiting measures are taken.

The Twins are open to trading DH Kendrys Morales, who signed with the team in early June, and other potential free agents, according to FOX Sports. The list includes Josh Willingham, Kevin Correia and Kurt Suzuki.

Though, the Twins might try to keep Suzuki since few contenders have a need for a catcher.

The Diamondbacks are managing outfielder Mark Trumbo's playing time since he returned from a stress fracture in his left foot, reports MLB.com. Trumbo started two of three games in the final series before the All-Star break and the first two games against the Cubs over the weekend.

"It's not an injury concern," manager Kirk Gibson told the website. "It's more of a ... rehab situation where I just didn't think to run him through five days in a row was a smart thing to do."

Trumbo is 3 for 18 with a homer, two RBI and three runs scored since returning from the injury.

News
Although he has started just twice in July, Cardinals outfielder Peter Bourjos is batting .500 (8 for 16) with one double, one triple, one home run and two RBI in 11 games. He also has three stolen bases this month.

"I feel really good," Bourjos said, per MLB.com. "I'm going right to the ball and I know where the barrel is at, and I'm making pretty good contact."

Bourjos said his swing "is the best it's ever been." He added the results are because of some mechanical tweaks he made about a month ago. He's made only three starts since the changes, so he's had plenty of time to hone his skills in the batting cage.

"It's always a tough situation when you're not in there every day," Bourjos said. "I kind of went through this in 2012 in Anaheim, very similar. I think that's helped me out a little bit going through that already and trying to stay positive and continue to work."
