News
Trumbo went 1-for-4 with a two-run shot, his MLB-leading 40th home run of the season, in Sunday's win over the Yankees.

The blasts have been coming in bunches for Trumbo lately, as he's hit homers in back-to-back games four times in August en route to 10 total home runs on the month along with 21 RBI. He's hitting just .197 (17-for-87) during August though, so it's been feast or famine for Trumbo at the plate.

News
Kendrick is not in Saturday's lineup against the Cubs.

It appears to be a day of rest for the 33-year-old utility man as Chase Utley mans second base and Andrew Toles takes over in left field. Kendrick is batting .280/.337/.463 throughout August and will likely be back in the lineup Sunday.

Trout went 3-for-4 with four RBI and scored a run in Thursday's win over Toronto.

Trout extended his hitting streak to four game with his second straight three-hit performance. After seeing his average dip slightly during the middle of the month, the All-Star outfield has gotten back on track over the past week. Trout has gone 10-for-22 over the last six games to boost his average back up .316, its highest mark since Aug. 7.

Aybar may continue to get starts at shortstop after Jose Iglesias (hamstring) returns from injury, reports the Detroit Free Press.

Aybar was hitting .233 in eight games with the Tigers after hitting .242 in 97 games with the Braves. He may also get starts at third, but 1,235 of his 1,293 games played in the majors came at short. Manager Brad Ausmus told reporters Thursday that starter Jose Iglesias' hamstring was still bothering him, so he may not be activated from the disabled list right away. Keep Aybar going while you can.

News
Santana didn't factor into the decision against the Blue Jays on Saturday, giving up six earned runs on five hits and five walks over 6.2 innings. He struck out four.

The veteran righty had been lights out over his last several starts, but ran into some trouble against the potent Blue Jays lineup. After escaping through the first four frames unscathed, Santana gave up an RBI double in the fourth to Michael Saunders and a two-run blast to Edwin Encarnacion in the sixth. He was also charged with three more runs off inherited runners after he exited in the seventh, making Saturday's outing the highest scoring against Santana since he gave up the same amount of earned runs against the Royals back on May 24. Saturday's end result also marked the end of a six-quality start streak for Santana, who'll try to right the ship against the White Sox next Thursday.

News
Bourjos is not in the lineup Monday against the Nationals.

It will be the third straight game Bourjos is held out of the lineup, as the 29-year-old is hitting just .231 on the month and is 1-for-9 over his last four games. In his place, Philadelphia will go with an outfield alignment of Jimmy Paredes in left, Odubel Herrera in center, and Aaron Altherr in right.

Jered Weaver, #36

News
Weaver pitched 5.2 innings, allowing two runs (one earned), five hits and three walks while striking out four Blue Jays in Thursday's win.

Entering the game, Weaver was 0-3 with a 7.29 ERA through four starts this month, but he somehow mustered a strong performance to down the potent Blue Jays lineup. The veteran's five hits allowed were the fewest he's given up since June 19, and the third fewest Weaver's allowed in any of his 25 starts this season. Despite the impressive performance, the 33-year-old continues to be hit-or-miss when it comes to his fantasy production, making him a poor option in most formats.

Erick Aybar will start at shortstop and bat ninth as Romine heads to the bench. Romine has gone 3-for-8 with three RBI over Detroit's last two games, but owns a subpar batting average of .224 for the season.

Chatwood will pitch at Double-A Hartford on Monday, Nick Kosmider of the Denver Post reports.

Fortunately, it appears that Chatwood is on track to come off the DL in the near future. Colorado has yet to say how many rehab starts Chatwood will make, although it's known that he'll be limited to 75 pitches in Monday's outing. More information regarding his eventual return should be known after his upcoming outing.
