News
On-again, off-again Orioles starter Kevin Gausman was on Monday night against Atlanta. But all he got for his shutout effort was a no-decision.

Gausman blanked the Braves on six hits over 7 2/3 innings with one walk and five strikeouts, but the game remained scoreless throughout his stint on the mound.

He allowed at least one baserunner in each of his first first innings before retiring nine in a row. Successive singles with two out in the eighth prompted his removal.

His finest outing of the year followed two duds and shrunk his ERA to 4.20.

Right fielder Chris Davis gave the Orioles all the offense they would need in the 7-3 win over the Braves on Tuesday. Davis launched a three-run home run in the bottom of the first, and followed that up with a two-run blast in the second.

Davis would finish the game 2 for 4 with five RBI and two runs scored. The five RBI represent a season-high for Davis, who is batting .316 with five home runs and 12 RBI over his past 10 games.

Injuries
Oblique - 15-day DL. Out until at least mid-August (Updated - 7/22/15)
News
Orioles versatile player Steve Pearce is eligible for activation off the disabled list on Aug. 3, but he will likely need more time to recover from a left oblique strain sustained last Wednesday.

He cannot do any strengthening exercises or throw or hit without risk of re-injury, so he has been limited to rest and treatment, per MLB.com.

"On paper, as far as experience and track record of that injury, no," Buck Showalter said when asked about the possibility of Pearce returning when eligible. "But who knows? I don't know how quick we caught it."

News
Chris Tillman was one out from pitching a complete-game shutout, but had to settle for a victory as he was dominant for the Orioles in a 2-0 win over the Braves on Wednesday.

Tillman threw 95 pitches and allowed four hits -- only one of which was an extra-base hit -- while walking none and striking out two.

Tillman has now won six straight decisions over a stretch from June 5 that has seen him raise his record to 8-7 and lower his ERA from 5.94 to 4.35.

News
Starter Ubaldo Jimenez picked up his eight win of the season, as the Orioles downed the Braves 7-3 on Tuesday. Jimenez allowed two runs on four hits over seven innings. He walked three and struck out three, throwing 62 of his 106 pitches for strikes.

Jimenez (8-6) lowered his ERA to 3.73 with the fine outing. He allowed a first-inning two-run home run to Freddie Freeman for his only mistake of the evening. After that, he was strong, retiring 10 of the final 11 batters he faced.

This was a nice comeback for Jimenez, who had allowed 14 runs in seven innings over his previous two starts.

News
Orioles starting pitcher Wei-Yin Chen picked up his fifth win of the season on Sunday.

Chen allowed just two runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings of work. He struck out three batters and gave up just one walk. Chen's mistakes came on a pair of solo home runs he allowed in the fourth inning, otherwise he shut down the Rays' offense completely.

Believing that he still had more left in the tank, Chen was upset when manager Buck Showalter pulled him from the game, per CSN Baltimore.

"Anybody will be angry when you get taken out of the game in that situation," Chen said.

Chen improved to 5-6 with the win. He has an impressive 2.88 ERA on the season.
