Ankle - 15-day DL. Expected to begin Triple-A rehab assignment Aug. 3 or Aug. 4 (Updated - 7/30/14)
News
Embattled and injured Orioles right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez expressed satisfaction about his rehab start Tuesday for Class A Aberdeen despite allowing one run on five hits and three walks in 4 2/3 innings. Jimenez has been out since July 5 with a sprained ankle.

"Felt good," he told MASNsports.com. "I was able to get on the mound without thinking about my ankle. I was able to cover first base and third base, so I was able to do everything I was supposed to do. Got my pitch count all the way to 70-something pitches. The main thing was to see how the ankle would respond.

"It feels good. No complaints. Don't feel anything. Every time you hurt a part of your body it's not going to be like it was before right away. But I feel good to pitch."

Jimenez was a mess with the Orioles before going down. He managed just three quality starts in his last 10 outings for Baltimore as his record lowered to 3-8 and ERA rose to 4.52.

News
Orioles outfielder Adam Jones snapped out of a bit of a home power outage Tuesday, in a 7-6 win over the Angels.

Jones ended a six-game streak without a home run Tuesday, as he clubbed a solo shot in the first inning to get the Orioles on the board. It was his only contribution to the winning effort, as he finished 1 for 5 with one strikeout.

Jones has seen his average fall to .292 during a month of July that has seen him hit just .244/.286/.456. He still has five home runs and 16 RBI during the month, bringing his season total to 20 and 65, respectively.
