News
Gausman (2-7) fired seven scoreless innings in Saturday's 5-2 victory over the Indians, giving up only four hits and three walks. He struck out seven.

Gausman, who's been a tough-luck loser on more than one occasion this season, assured himself a victory by shutting out a dangerous Indians lineup over seven strong frames. The right-hander threw 74 of 116 pitches for strikes, and induced 15 swinging strikes overall. The 25-year-old has now given up only two earned runs over the 13.2 innings encompassing his last two starts, and has recorded 13 whiffs over that span. He'll look to keep the momentum going against the Twins next Thursday.

Davis (illness) is in Friday's lineup, but he is still not fully recovered from the flu, MASN Sports reports.

The flu bug took a hard bite out of Davis, who missed three games earlier this week before returning Thursday. Davis is in shape to play, but he went 0-for-3 with a walk Thursday.

News
Worley (2-1) gave up two runs on five hits and three walks over seven innings Sunday, striking out three, but came away with a no-decision in a 5-3 win over the Indians.

He threw 66 of 102 pitches for strikes in his longest outing of the year, and while Worley wasn't exactly fooling anybody (generating just five swinging strikes), he was in line for the win before Brad Brach gave up an unearned run in the eighth inning to tie the score 3-3. This performance was probably good enough to keep Worley in the rotation for another turn, but if so, he'll face a stiff test Friday in Toronto.

Alvarez was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk following Monday's win against the Rockies, Jon Meoli of the Baltimore Sun reports.

This move will allow the Orioles to add Hyun Soo Kim (hamstring) back to the 25-man roster Tuesday. Alvarez went 1-for-3 in Monday's game, just his second MLB appearance of 2016.

News
Alvarez went 1-for-4 with a 448-foot solo homer in Saturday's 5-2 victory over the Indians.

The veteran slugger's mammoth blast chased Indians starter Josh Tomlin to start the seventh, and was Alvarez's third homer in the last seven games. After a dreadful start to his Orioles career that saw him hitting .194 on May 28, the 29-year-old has raised his average 46 points since June 1.

Jimenez returned to the Orioles on Tuesday, Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.

Jimenez had been on the paternity list, but is now back with the team. He's expected to take the mound Thursday night against the Twins, however, Baltimore has yet to officially name a starter for the contest. Jimenez, who hasn't pitched since July 8, has struggled for much of the season, as he's 5-9 with a 7.38 ERA.

Hart was optioned to Double-A Bowie on Sunday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

As the low man in the pecking order of the Orioles' bullpen, Hart was sent out when the team needed to clear a roster spot for Darren O'Day (hamstring), who will return from the DL following a nearly two-month absence. Hart made three scoreless appearances with the Orioles in his first stint in the big leagues, covering 2.2 innings.

Jones went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in Monday's win over the Rockies.

Jones has hit safely in 15 of 19 games this month, but still is hitting just .256 in July. The centerfielder is still flashing significant power with 17 homers this season, but his .265 average would be the lowest mark in a complete season.

Gallardo limited the Rockies to two runs over 6.2 innings, allowing five hits, walking two and striking out six.

Gallardo's start on Monday lowered his ERA to 5.37, the lowest point it's been since his second start of the season. His six strikeouts matched his season high. The veteran righty will look to build on his strong start when he takes the mound Saturday against the Blue Jays.

Wieters (foot) is back in the lineup Monday against the Rockies, Jon Meoli of the Baltimore Sun reports.

Wieters took a foul ball off the foot last Monday and missed the last six games while dealing with swelling and discomfort. As expected, he'll return to action Monday, slotting in at catcher and batting sixth in the order against Colorado's Jorge De La Rosa.

Trumbo wasted no time going deep for the second straight game, blasting a two-run shot in the first that brought home Chris Davis. The 30-year-old slugger has five RBI over the last two games, and tops the majors with 30 homers.

News
Rickard has been diagnosed with a high grade ligament tear in his right thumb and will wear a splint for three weeks, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.

An MRI revealed significant damage to Rickard's thumb, and doctors have recommended he keep the thumb immobilized for a few weeks. Once he sheds the splint, Rickard will need several weeks from there to ramp up his activity and ultimately complete a rehab assignment. He's hoping to be back in September.

News
Hardy is out of the lineup Sunday against the Indians, MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli reports.

Hardy has sported a hot bat since the All-Star break, going 12-for-33 (.364 average) at the dish with a homer and four RBI. The shortstop will turn 34 years old in August, so Orioles skipper Buck Showalter will likely look to rest him occasionally down the stretch in order to preserve Hardy for a potential postseason run. Ryan Flaherty will cover shortstop for Hardy on Sunday.

News
Schoop went 2-for-4 with a double, a solo home run and another run scored in Sunday's win over the Indians.

The homer was his 17th of the season, a new career high, and Schoop is enjoying his third straight solid month with a .282/.309/.513 slash line, four homers and 12 RBI in 78 July at-bats. He hasn't drawn a walk all month, though, posting a 0:16 BB:K, so a batting average correction could be coming.

The 24-year-old slugger went deep for the first time since July 5, and drove in only his fifth RBI of July. Machado has only slashed .219/.292/.328 in 64 at-bats this month, but is still hitting .314 on the season, with 20 homers and 55 RBI.

Reimold pinch hit for Julio Borbon in the bottom of the ninth inning Sunday and launched a walkoff, two-run home run off Indians closer Cody Allen.

It was his first homer in almost two months, and Reimold entered Sunday's game hitting just .130 (3-for-23) in July. The Reimold-Borbon duo will likely split time in left field while both Hyun Soo Kim (hamstring) and Joey Rickard (thumb) are on the shelf, but Kim could return as soon as Tuesday. If Reimold keeps playing hero for the O's, though, he'll work his way into more playing time even after Kim is back.

News
Bundy may remain in the rotation the rest of the season despite an undisclosed innings limit, MASN Sports reports.

It seems as though the innings limit is well above the total Bundy can reach this season, so his performance will dictate whether he remains in the rotation or returns to the bullpen. Bundy was quite valuable in the bullpen, but three home runs allowed in his rotation debut last Sunday were his undoing. Bundy takes the hill Friday night against the Indians.

Sidelined since July 10 because of the issue, the 28-year-old rookie required the minimum time on the disabled list before his return to action. He should see the majority of starts in left field moving forward, especially with Joey Rickard (thumb) out for an extended period of time.

News
O'Day struck out the side in a perfect ninth inning Sunday to earn his third win of the season.

He looked sharp in his first appearance since recovering from a hamstring injury, and Nolan Reimold's walkoff homer in the bottom half of the ninth gave O'Day a nice reward for his efforts. He should resume his spot as one of Zach Britton's setup men going forward and be a strong source of holds and strikeouts down the stretch.
