News
Worley threw 3.1 shutout innings while relieving Ubaldo Jimenez Sunday, allowing four hits with five strikeouts and one walk.

Worley has not been scored upon un any of his four appearances out of the bullpen spanning seven innings. Performances like Sunday's might keep Worley's name in the mix if another starter gets hurt.

News
Tillman (3-1) tossed seven innings, allowing one run on five hits while walking four and matching his career high with nine strikeouts in Tuesday's win against the Yankees.

Before a disastrous 2015, Tillman was regarded as one of the better pitchers in the AL. Six starts into this season, he looks more like his old self and well on track to rebound from last year. Tillman sports a 2.81 ERA and 1.13 WHIP (both well below his career averages) and has allowed two runs or fewer in five of his six starts. Considering his struggles last season, the 28-year-old ace of the Orioles staff may have been passed over in drafts this year. If he's still on the wire, it probably won't last much longer.

News
Alvarez is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Yankees, Jon Meoli of the Baltimore Sun reports.

Since April 16, Alvarez either has two or more hits or no hits in a game, watching his average jump from .167 to .208 over that span while picking up his first home run. Really only able to act as the designated hitter these days, Alvarez gives way to Nolan Reimold while Mark Trumbo slides over as the designated hitter.

News
Jimenez (1-3) allowed six runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out three over 4.2 innings to take the loss Sunday against the White Sox.

Jimenez got off to a strong start before giving up five runs in the fifth inning in a game the Orioles would go on to lose. This was the first time he's allowed more than four earned runs in a game this season, and his ERA soared to 5.20. He'll make his next start Saturday against the Rays.

Injuries
Shoulder - Expected to be out until at least May 20 (Updated - 4/25/16)
News
Gallardo (shoulder) is expected to resume throwing soon, Rich Dubroff of CSN Mid Atlantic reports.

Everything has gone well thus far in Gallardo's rehab after landing on the disabled list with tendinitis in his throwing shoulder, so the next step will be to resume throwing. The initial timetable of 4-to-6 weeks would target a late May return, but a lot will depend on exactly when Gallardo is able to throw and how his shoulder responds to it.

News
Wieters is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Yankees, Jon Meoli of the Baltimore Sun reports.

Wieters finally played back-to-back games at the end of April, but he's still stuck splitting time down the middle with Caleb Joseph. Wieters' power hasn't really come through this season, hitting just one home run and two doubles as he's only mustered a .217/.288/.300 slash line.

News
Trumbo went 2-for-4 with two homers and three RBI in Tuesday's win over the Yankees.

The new Oriole is off to a blazing start, the best of his career, hitting .337/.381/.612 with eight home runs and 22 RBI. Trumbo is on pace to annihilate his best years in all of the major offensive categories. Unfortunately, his track record would indicate that his value is certain to decline as he has traditionally slowed down in May and June before picking things back up after the break. If he can continue his success through the beginning of the summer, Trumbo may be in line for a record-breaking year.

Foot - Expected to be out until at least Jun 13 (Updated - 5/3/16)
News
Hardy (foot) was placed on the 15-day DL on Tuesday.

Hardy had already been ruled out for 6-to-8 weeks after suffering a hairline fracture in his foot, so the move doesn't come as a surprise. The club recalled Ryan Flaherty to take his spot on the roster, while Manny Machado is expected to slide over to shortstop in his absence.

News
Machado started at shortstop Tuesday and the Orioles are taking it one day at a time at the position while J.J. Hardy is on the DL, MASN Sports reports.

Machado is already one of the best players in the game no matter where he plays on the field. His normal third base position is rather deep, with Josh Donaldson, Nolan Arenado and Kris Bryant at the fantasy position. If Machado earns the shortstop designation, the flexibility could be very nice for his owners. Machado has logged five games at shortstop so far and his owners figure to be keeping their fingers crossed for more. Ryan Flaherty started at third base and Machado figures to have a green light unless at shortstop unless he starts to make errors.

Reimold is batting sixth and starting in left field Wednesday against the Yankees, Jon Meoli of the Baltimore Sun reports.

Reimold has been playing well of late, collecting five hits in his past 11 at-bats, which has driven his average up to .343. Reimold replaces Pedro Alvarez in the lineup.

Ankle - Expected to be out until at least May 5 (Updated - 5/4/16)
News
Britton (ankle) increased his activity during a bullpen session Wednesday, but his availability to pitch Wednesday night was not revealed by Orioles manager Buck Showalter, Eduardo A. Encina of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Given the uncertainty regarding his availability, it may be prudent to look elsewhere for relief help or staff fillers in leagues that allow daily moves. For now, it's encouraging that Britton's progress has kept him away from a stint on the 15-day DL.

Joseph is batting eighth and starting behind the plate Wednesday against the Yankees, Jon Meoli of the Baltimore Sun reports.

Continuing to alternate games with Matt Wieters, Joseph doesn't provide quite the same pop that Wieters does. He's hitting .212 with one extra-base hit. He has drawn three walks in his past two games after drawing just one in his first nine games.

News
O'Day tossed a scoreless ninth to earn his second save of the season Monday against the Yankees.

O'Day is clearly in position to close with Zach Britton (ankle) on the shelf for several days. Britton appears to be targeting a return later this week. O'Day pitched to contact Tuesday, allowing one hit with no strikeouts.
