News
As expected, Pirates reliever Brad Lincoln will be moved back to the bullpen manager Clint Hurdle confirmed to reporters on Tuesday. Lincoln allowed two runs over six innings, while making a spot start for Pittsburgh on Monday. “I’m not getting that far ahead of myself,” Pirates manager Clint Hurdle told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “I think we need to take things pretty much as they come. This is the best we’ve ever seen him. We’ve got five starters who are pretty competitive right now. He gives us great depth across the board.”

It was the second straight game Burnett completed eight innings as he trimmed his ERA to 5.12 on the season. He finished with four strikeouts and no walks -- the first time he has not walked a batter while going at least eight innings since May 30, 2010, while with the Yankees. Burnett allowed one run in the fifth and seventh innings, but halted a two-game streak in which he's yielded a homer.

News
Pittsburgh starting pitcher Charlie Morton (2-3) scattered two runs -- one earned -- and seven hits over six innings during the Pirates' 5-2 victory over Houston on Saturday night. Morton topped six innings for the second straight outing, but was unable to register a strikeout and walked one batter. All but two of the outs Morton recorded came via groundballs. "Charlie was able to right the ship," Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said. "Seventeen balls on the ground, 14 for outs. That was real good to see."
