Diamondbacks' Carlos Rivero: Re-signs with Diamondbacks
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rivero re-signed with the Diamondbacks on a minor league contract, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.

The 28-year-old slashed .277/.316/.484 with 19 home runs in 124 games with Arizona's Triple-A affiliate in 2016. He briefly made it to the majors in 2014 with Boston, but only lasted four games. This is primarily a signing to provide depth at the hot corner.

Diamondbacks' Josh Thole: Inks minor league deal with Diamondbacks
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Thole agreed to a minor league deal with the Diamondbacks on Monday, Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports.

Thole was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays in 2016 after struggling at the plate to the tune of a .169 batting average over 50 games played. He has never been much of an offensive threat and will likely provide organization catching depth for the Diamondbacks in 2017.

Angels' Juan Graterol: Claimed off waivers by Angels
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Graterol was claimed off waivers by the Angels on Thursday.

Graterol was briefly a member of the Diamondbacks and Reds organizations during the offseason, but is set to rejoin the Angels for the 2017 campaign. Graterol spent most of the 2016 season at Triple-A Salt Lake where he posted a .300/.340/.370 line over 68 games.

Diamondbacks' J.J. Hoover: Signs with Arizona
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hoover signed a minor league contract with Arizona on Friday, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.

The deal includes an invitation to spring training and could be worth up to $900,000 if he makes the team. Hoover had a disastrous end to his time in Cincinnati, posting a 13.50 ERA over 18.2 innings before being demoted to Triple-A Louisville. The 29-year-old joins a D-Backs bullpen which allowed 311 earned runs in 2016, second most in the majors.

Diamondbacks' Gregor Blanco: Signs minor league contract with Arizona
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Blanco agreed to a minor league contract with the Diamondbacks on Tuesday that includes an invitation to spring training.

Blanco enjoyed a nice run with the Giants over the past five years, but his 2016 campaign proved to be the worst offensive season of his career. In 274 plate appearances, the veteran outfielder slashed .224/.309/.311 and stole a career-low six bases. The Diamondbacks' starting outfielders seem to be set in stone, but Blanco will have a chance to compete for a reserve role.
