Braves' Freddie Freeman: Big game in Sunday's win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Freeman went 3-for-3 with a walk, a double, a solo home run and a second run scored in Sunday's win over the Mets.

The home run was his 13th on the season. Freeman continues to tear it up in June, and he's now hitting .348 (31-for-89) on the month with five homers, 13 RBI and 12 runs scored.

Braves' Arodys Vizcaino: Picks up one-out save Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Vizcaino struck out the only batter he faced in Sunday's win over the Mets to notch his 10th save of the season.

The Braves headed into the ninth inning with a 5-0 lead, but Alexi Ogando gave up two runs on three hits in his 0.2 innings to set up the easy save opportunity. Vizcaino now has a 1.93 ERA and 45:15 K:BB in 32.2 innings on the year.

Braves' Bud Norris: Stifles Mets over seven innings Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Norris (3-7) tossed seven scoreless innings Sunday, scattering four hits and striking out eight, to pick up the win in a 5-2 victory over the Mets.

It was easily his best start of the season and it can't just be chalked up to facing a struggling Mets' squad, as Norris generated a solid 17 swinging strikes in his 88 pitches. He's now got a 2.15 ERA and 29:8 K:BB in 29.1 innings over five starts since returning to the rotation, which might just be good enough to get him traded to a team in desperate need of pitching help. Assuming he's still in a Braves uniform though, he'll next take the mound Friday at home against the Marlins.

Braves' Jace Peterson: Settles into leadoff role
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Peterson will start at second base and serve as the Braves' leadoff hitter for the sixth straight game Sunday against the Mets.

After getting demoted to Triple-A Gwinnett following a poor start to his season, Peterson returned to the big leagues earlier this month and has been able to reclaim his regular starting role. He's also helped his cause to remain atop the lineup by recording one hit in each of his last six games, but he's had a multi-hit effort in only one of those contests. Still, with Mallex Smith (hand) on the DL, Peterson should give the Braves an element of contact-hitting and speed in the leadoff spot, though don't look for him to produce many helpful counting stats.

Braves' Chase d'Arnaud: Falls back into bench role
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

D'Arnaud is out of the lineup Sunday against the Mets.

D'Arnaud was off to a hot start during his tenure with the Braves, but has fizzled out of late and has seems to have lost his starting job to Adonis Garcia, who will start for the third straight game. Furthermore, Jace Peterson seems to have settled in as the Braves' everyday option at second baseman and as their leadoff hitter, closing off another avenue to playing time for d'Arnaud.
