Orioles' Chris Johnson: Reinstated from DL
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Johnson was reinstated from the 7-day disabled list Tuesday.

Johnson underwent surgery in April to repair a broken ulna bone in his forearm, but has looked good in seven rehab games with High-A Aberdeen and appears ready to return to Triple-A Norfolk. The 32-year-old resigned with the Orioles on a minor-league deal this offseason and will continue serving as organizational depth.

Orioles' Zach Britton: Progressing in rehab assignment
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Britton (forearm) had no issues after tossing one inning in a rehab assignment with Double-A Bowie on Monday, Eduardo A. Encina of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Britton continues to show progress in his long recovery from a forearm strain and a timetable appears to be forming in regards to a return. The next step for the closer will be another outing with Bowie on Thursday, before moving to High-A Frederick on Friday and finally Sunday with Triple-A Norfolk. All indications are that Britton feels good thus far, so a return to the Orioles' bullpen next week is certainly probable.

Orioles' Dylan Bundy: Next start still TBD
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bundy will make his next start during this weekend's series against the Rays, but the exact day has yet to be decided, Eduardo A. Encina of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Bundy said the upcoming start "depends on how things fall into place," though it's not exactly clear what this means. The Orioles have been attempting to lighten his workload by mixing up the rotation, as the right-hander has already racked up 27.1 innings through five starts this month and 99 on the season. All estimates point to Bundy starting Saturday's matchup, but the team will make a firm decision later in the week.

Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Still raking at High-A
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Mountcastle, 20, is batting .315/.342/.550 with 13 home runs, 43 RBI and five steals through 71 games for High-A Frederick.

The breakout season continues for Mountcastle, though it is worth noting his 50:10 K:BB. In other words, Mountcastle is not patient in the batter's box, which could come back to haunt him at the higher levels. For now, though, it is difficult to argue with the results, and he may just be the top prospect for the Orioles.

Orioles' Brad Brach: Nabs second win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brach (2-1) pitched two scoreless innings to collect his second win of the season during Sunday's victory over Tampa Bay.

Baltimore scored four runs over the eighth and ninth inning, and Brach held the Rays off the scoreboard in both frames. He's sporting a rock-solid 2.43 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 8.4 K/9, but Zach Britton's (forearm) return looms over his fantasy value. Brach's run in the ninth inning could come to an end quickly, but there's no guarantee that he can't continue to be a serviceable asset in deep settings. After all, Britton could be eased back into action or sustain a setback.
