Orioles' Zach Britton: Picks up 47th save in pivotal game against Jays
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Britton nailed down his 47th save of the year, pitching a clean ninth inning while striking out two in Wednesday's contest against Toronto.

Britton was afforded the save chance after Hyun Soo Kim hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning. The Orioles' closer has allowed just four runs all season, and three of those came in the first month of the campaign. Britton is on the verge of completing a perfect season, as he currently sits 47-for-47 in save chances.

Orioles' Hyun Soo Kim: Hits game-winning homer as pinch hitter Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Kim entered as a pinch hitter in the top of the ninth inning Wednesday. He hit a game-winning two-run homer off Toronto closer Roberto Osuna.

Kim, who refused an option to the minors this spring, has developed into one of the Orioles' most consistent -- and popular -- players. He delivered the biggest hit of his young MLB career Wednesday, pinch hitting for Nolan Reimold. Kim sent the ninth pitch he saw from Osuna into the O's bullpen for the go-ahead drive, his sixth homer of the season.

Orioles' Chris Tillman: Bounces back in final start of 2016
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Tillman pitched 5.2 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out two Blue Jays in Wednesday's no-decision.

In his final start of the regular season, the 28-year-old rebounded nicely from his previous outing, a 1.2-inning disaster against Boston. Overall, 2016 was a successful campaign for Tillman, who failed miserably to fulfill high expectations a year ago. This season, the righty tied his career high with 16 wins and enjoyed a career-best nine game winning streak that stretched across the first three months of the season. Tillman went 13-1 over 17 starts from April 27 to July 21. He stumbled a bit down the stretch, but that didn't subtract from his outstanding campaign and the critical role he played in Baltimore's success this year.

Orioles' Kevin Gausman: Continues serving up longballs in latest loss
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Gausman (8-12) pitched six innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits while walking two and striking out five in Tuesday's loss to Toronto.

The first three runs Gausman surrendered Tuesday were the result of a pair of homers. That makes two straight starts -- and seven total on the year -- in which the righty has served up two or more longballs. Gausman's 1.28 WHIP is not as great as it first appears when considering the 25-year-old owns a 1.4 HR/9 through 172.1 innings. It's no coincidence that his best stretch of the year (5-0 in six starts from Aug. 18 to Sept. 14) was when he managed a 0.5 HR/9 over 39.2 innings. If Gausman can't keep the ball in the park, then his otherwise strong numbers will consistently go to waste.

Orioles' Mark Trumbo: Goes deep for second straight night
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Trumbo went 2-for-3 and hit a home run for the second straight day in a 6-1 victory over the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

That give Trumbo 45 homers this season and expands his lead in the category to three over Edwin Encarnacion. Trumbo is 4-for-8 with two homers and a double in the first two games of the weekend series versus Arizona. In addition to 45 bombs, Trumbo is hitting .250 with 104 RBI and 89 runs in 585 at-bats.
