Report: Nick Swisher to return to Indians on Tuesday
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com

Indians first baseman Nick Swisher will return to the team on Tuesday, according to a report by MLB.com

"Swish was adamant that he was ready," manager Terry Francona said. Swisher opened the year on the disabled list after having surgery on both knees last year.

Swisher hit .375 with a home run and five RBI in a six-game minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Columbus.

Outfielder Tyler Holt will be optioned to the minor leagues to make room for Swisher. Holt was hitless with two strikeouts in three at bats for the Indians.

Indians 1B Carlos Santana goes 2 for 2, walks three times Sunday
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer

Indians first baseman Carlos Santana enjoyed a productive day at the plate during Sunday's victory over the Blue Jays. Santana, who has played every inning of every game for the Tribe in 2015, reached base in all five plate appearances Sunday. He went 2 for 2 with and RBI, a run scored and three walks.

Santana is hitting .265 (9 for 34) with five RBI over his last 10 games. He's also drawn 14 walks with just three strikeouts over that strech. He currently leads the American League with 22 base-on-balls.

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com

Indians outfielder Michael Brantley had a two-RBI single and double during a 10-7 win Sunday vs. Toronto. He also had two runs and two walks.

Brantley has hit safely in four straight games and has at least one RBI in four straight games as well.

Since returning from a back injury April 17 -- which kept him out six of seven games from April 8-15 -- Brantley is batting .381 (24 for 63) with one home run, seven doubles, nine runs, 11 RBI, seven walks and three stolen bases in 16 games.

Indians' Jason Kipnis homers, collects four hits in win Sunday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis went 4 for 5 with a double, a home run, two RBI and three runs scored in his team's 10-7 win over the Blue Jays Sunday.

Kipnis was a force throughout the game, opening the scoring with a third-inning solo home run then helping ignite a six-run fifth with an RBI single. He scored later in the inning and again in the sixth to close a spectacular weekend against the Blue Jays, going 8 for 12 with three walks, a double, two home runs and six runs scored in his last three games.

"Getting base hits has helped me a lot," Kipnis said to MLB.com. "April was rough. Things weren't falling. I had some good at-bats, where guys were making good catches, things like that. In May, they're starting to fall for me now. I'm also putting good swings on and not rolling over stuff and we're having better at-bats now."

Kipnis has hit .273/.327/.404 with three home runs, 11 RBI and two stolen bases in 99 at-bats.

Indians' Corey Kluber, Roberto Perez still learning to work together
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com

Indians starter Corey Kluber hasn't looked like the pitcher that won last season's Cy Young Award. Part of the reason may be the other half of the battery.

Catcher Yan Gomes has been on the disabled list with a knee injury, and Kluber is still adjusting to work with Roberto Perez

"There's obviously a difference," Kluber said, per MLB.com. "Whether it be myself with Yan, or somebody that gets traded, for example, there's always a period where you've got to work to know what each other wants to do. I think that's normal for any player to go through. It's not just Roberto and myself."

"There's no secret how comfortable Klubes and Gomer were," manager Terry Francona said. "That was a pretty special relationship that you want. ... When a guy like Gomes goes down, you don't have a Gomes sitting on the bench. I think we're pretty fortunate where we are, but they're not going to have that same sync. It's impossible."
