Martinez remains out of the lineup Saturday against the Braves, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
As expected, Martinez will remain on the bench with the Tigers wrapping up the season in a National League park (and thus without the DH). Martinez has made five starts at first base this season but it's hard to imagine he would get the nod over Miguel Cabrera on Sunday with a postseason berth on the line.
Martinez is not in Friday's lineup against the Braves.
The Tigers wrap up the regular season with a three game set in Atlanta and consequently lose the DH spot, so Martinez will likely be reduced to pinch-hitting the next three days. The 37-year-old has been successful in that capacity this year though, as he's 4-for-6 with three walks and three home runs in nine pinch-hitting opportunities on the season.
Norris will start Friday against the Braves.
Norris will now take the mound Friday, as his scheduled Thursday start versus the Indians has been postponed. Norris has put together a solid showing for the month of September, having posted a 3.13 ERA and 1.13 WHIP over four games.
Norris won't pitch Thursday against the Indians as the game was postponed due to adverse field conditions.
Courtesy of heavy rain, Thursday's game had been delayed for over four hours before finally being postponed. The game will be played Monday if needed, as the Tigers may have a chance to earn a Wild Card spot for the 2016 playoffs. However, it's unknown whether or not Norris would start said game for the Tigers.
Zimmermann is now scheduled to start Saturday against the Braves.
Thursday's postponement will not cost Zimmermann his start, as he'll simply move back to Saturday. Zimmermann hasn't looked like himself all year and has battled neck and lat issues, but he threw three innings of one-run ball in relief last weekend and will look to build on that momentum in his final regular-season appearance.
