Astros' Alex Bregman: Scores lone run Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bregman went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to Seattle.

Bregman scored on a sacrifice fly after he stole third base, giving him 13 runs scored over the past 12 games. With just eight home runs and 28 RBI this season -- including a current 19-game homer-less stretch with just two RBI -- he hasn't provided a whole lot of value for fantasy owners in the power categories typically associated with corner infielders, but Bregman is enjoying his finest month of the season, posting a .939 OPS in 14 July games.

Astros' Marwin Gonzalez: Filling in at short
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gonzalez started at shortstop in place of the injured Carlos Correa (thumb) on Wednesday and went 1-for-4 with a double in Houston's 4-1 loss to Seattle.

Gonzalez has started at shortstop in the two games the Astros have played without Correa. He should receive the bulk of the starts at shortstop while Correa is sidelined, which is expected to extend until September. Fantasy owners will not have to worry about if and where the super-utility player will be in the lineup for the next six weeks.

Astros' Charlie Morton: Takes loss in serviceable effort Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morton (7-4) tossed 6.2 innings Wednesday, allowing four runs on six hits while striking out five in a losing effort against the Mariners.

Morton rolled through the first three innings before allowing a single and a Ben Game home run to start the fourth inning. The right-hander filled the zone with 66 of his 102 offerings going for strikes, but it simply wasn't enough given that the Houston bats fell silent at the hands of Seattle's James Paxton. Morton will look to get back into the win column Tuesday against the Phillies.

Astros' Dallas Keuchel: Next rehab start scheduled for Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Keuchel (neck) will make another rehab appearance Saturday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

It hasn't been determined where Keuchel will be making his next rehab appearance, but the southpaw could be nearing the end of his lengthy recovery. He tossed three innings with Double-A Corpus Christi on Monday, and threw a bullpen session Wednesday in order to keep his active prior to his upcoming start. Keuchel will likely throw a little bit more than he did during Monday's start for whichever one of Houston's affiliates he winds up playing with.

Astros' Carlos Correa: Successfully completes thumb surgery
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Correa successfully underwent surgery on his injured left thumb Wednesday, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Fortunately for the Astros, the star shortstop was able to get the surgery out of the way just a day after it was revealed that he would require an operation to fix the issue in his thumb. Correa will now focus on rehabbing the injury with the hope of returning sometime in the month of September. Look for Marwin Gonzalez and Alex Bregman to hold down the fort at shortstop while he's out.
