Dodgers' Chris Taylor: Starts in center versus righty
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Taylor got the start in center field in place of Joc Pederson (neck) Wednesday. He went 1-for-3 in a 6-1 loss to the Dodgers.

The 26-year-old has been playing all over the field this season, filling in for injured starters when called upon. Not only has he been filling various needs for the Dodgers, but the utility man has been experiencing his best offensive season to date (.326/.434/.562 in 106 plate appearances). Now that Logan Forsythe has returned from the disabled list, it appears Taylor will enter a platoon in center field with Enrique Hernandez until Pederson returns from a neck injury. The uncertainty of future playing time limits his value as a long-term pickup, but he is certainly putting up helpful fantasy numbers when he sees the field.

Dodgers' Rich Hill: Blister not to blame for poor outing Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hill said that his lingering blister issues were not present during Wednesday's rough outing against the Cardinals, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

The veteran southpaw was out of sorts Wednesday, walking a season-high seven batters while giving up five runs over four innings. Hill owned up to the poor outing, not using his blister issues as an excuse. With a 4.76 ERA through four starts, the 37-year-old will have to show good health and stronger outings going forward in order to stick in the Dodgers' crowded rotation.

Dodgers' Brandon McCarthy: Named as starter for Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Manager Dave Roberts confirmed McCarthy is scheduled to start Saturday against the Cubs, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

With the Dodgers looking to possibly shift Hyun-Jin Ryu to the bullpen, McCarthy is now set to take his next turn in the rotation sooner than expected. The 33-year-old, who owns a 3.08 ERA and 1.18 WHIP through 40.2 innings (seven starts) this season, will face off against John Lackey and the Cubs.

Dodgers' Alex Wood: Confirmed as Friday's starter
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Manager Dave Roberts said Wood will start Friday's game against the Cubs, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Wood has been stellar over his last three starts (3-0) -- allowing just 13 hits while notching a 25:4 K:BB across 18.1 scoreless innings -- earning himself another turn in the rotation sooner than expected. The 26-year-old, who owns a 1.88 ERA and 52:13 K:BB through seven starts (43 innings) this season, will look to stay undefeated as he faces Jake Arrieta and the Cubs.
