Brewers' Matt Garza: Earns sixth win over Rangers
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Garza (6-8) allowed three runs on six hits and a walk with three strikeouts over six innings to beat the Rangers on Monday.

Garza's performance looks particularly good in context, against one of the American League's best lineups in one of the majors' toughest parks for pitchers. He has allowed a solid 2.97 ERA with a 31:10 K:BB over 33.1 innings in his last six starts and is generating some solid momentum heading into 2017.

Brewers' Jonathan Villar: Homers twice, drives in five against Rangers
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Villar hit a pair of home runs and knocked in five runs in a in a 3-for-4 game Monday against the Rangers.

Villar had drove in more than two runs just once this season, when he hit a pinch-hit grand slam against Pittsburgh on Sept. 4. Hitting at the top of the lineup, he hasn't been privy to regular RBI opportunities. But he managed his second multi-homer game Monday and now has 18 home runs on the season after hitting just 10 over 188 games in his first three campaigns. Wherever Villar ends up in the Brewers infield, he looks to have a bright future in front of him.

Brewers' Brent Suter: Slated to stat Friday
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Suter will start Friday's game against the Rockies, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Taylor Jungmann (hip) was originally scheduled to start Friday's tilt, but after ruling Jungmann out due to a hip injury incurred in his previous start, the Brewers decided to give Suter another shot in a starting role. Suter was shelled in his first career start, giving up four runs on seven hits in a mere 4.1 innings against Seattle in mid-August, but he hasn't allowed a single run in 12.1 innings out of the bullpen since then. The left-hander doesn't overwhelm anyone with strikeouts, but his command is solid (2.7 BB/9) and he keeps the ball in the park (0.4 HR/9 with Triple-A Colorado Springs), which could bode well as he preps for a start in hitter-friendly Coors Field.

Brewers' Taylor Jungmann: Will not make next start
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Jungmann will not make his next scheduled start Friday against the Rockies due to a hip injury, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

It's unclear when or how the ailment came about, but it must be bothering the right-hander significantly if it's already ruled him out for the weekend series. With that start out of the picture, Jungmann will finish the season with a 7.76 ERA and 1.76 WHIP over six starts and two relief appearances. The 26-year-old will likely compete for a spot in the rotation next spring training, but he'll have to improve dramatically if he wants to have any chance of grabbing a spot on the major league roster.

Brewers' Wily Peralta: Tough-luck loser Sunday versus Reds
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Peralta allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out five across six innings in Sunday's loss to the Reds.

Peralta was a tough-luck loser Sunday, as he took the loss despite allowing just two extra-base hits and inducing nine groundball outs. Peralta has been solid over his last five starts, going at least six innings in each and allowing more than three runs just once. He will face a tough test in his final start of the season Sunday at Coors Field.
