Twins' Joe Mauer: Collects three hits Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Joe Mauer went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs and one RBI Sunday against the Tigers.

Mauer accounted for a pair of runs in the fifth inning that gave the Minnesota Twins a three-run lead in a game the Twins would eventually go on to lose. He's now hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games, and he owns a .337/.459/.461 slash line.

Twins' Ricky Nolasco: Allows five runs Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Ricky Nolasco allowed five runs on eight hits while striking out four over 5.2 innings, but received no decision Sunday against the Tigers.

Nolasco gave up a three-run homer to Nick Castellanos to end his day and erase a 5-2 lead that he was given. He's now allowed at least four earned runs in three of his last four starts to raise his ERA to 4.05 despite owning an excellent 0.99 WHIP. He'll make his next start Saturday against the White Sox.

Twins' Byung-ho Park: Launches sixth homer in Saturday defeat
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Byung Ho Park went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Tigers.

The Korean-born slugger was the sole source of offense for the beleaguered Minnesota Twins squad Saturday, blasting his second homer in the last three games. Park leads the team in the long ball category, but is struggling at the plate overall right along with the rest of his teammates. He's slashing .227/.288/.561 over 66 at-bats in his first season stateside.

Twins' Eduardo Nunez: Not starting Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Eduardo Nunez is out of the lineup Sunday against the Tigers, MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger reports.

The Minnesota Twins will utilize Miguel Sano at third base while clearing a spot for Oswaldo Arcia in right field, allowing Nunez to receive the day off. Nunez has gone 3-for-12 over his last three games and appears to be losing most of the fantasy luster fueled by his hot start to the season, as he's recently been dropped to seventh in the order after previously serving as the Twins' leadoff hitter.

Twins' Joe Mauer: Continues strong start to season
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Joe Mauer went 2-for-4 in Sunday's loss to Detroit to raise his batting average to .321.

Mauer is hitting .321/.453/.440 through 24 games and there are plenty of reasons to believe his strong start to the season is sustainable. Mauer's walk rate fell to a career low for a full season last year (10.1 percent) and his contact rate was near a career low (81 percent). He's improved in both areas this season with a 18.9 percent walk rate and 89 percent contact rate. His 9:20 K:BB ratio indicates he may be back to the player he was before a 2013 concussion.
