Phillies' Jeremy Hellickson: Leaves Saturday's game with sore back
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Hellickson was pulled from Saturday's game with a sore back, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia reports.

Hellickson hurt himself taking a big swing while facing Madison Bumgarner. He did pick up a win Saturday after allowing two runs, one earned, over six innings. He struck out three and walked one.

Phillies' Peter Bourjos: Could see more playing time in center field
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Bourjos could see more playing time in center field if Odubel Herrera's defense does not improve, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia reports.

Manager Pete Mackanin seems to already be considering a position change for Herrera, who took fly balls in right field before Saturday's game. Bourjos has regained regular playing time of late and has capitalized on his opportunity. He has started five straight games, going 8-for-18 with a triple, a home run and four RBI.

Phillies' Carlos Ruiz: Will start Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Ruiz will start Sunday in order to catch for Aaron Nola, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelpia reports.

Manager Pete Mackanin is hoping Ruiz can help Nola turn things around after going 0-3 with a 15.83 ERA over his last three starts. If Nola has success it might help Ruiz pick up some additional playing time as he would likely be paired up with Nola moving forward. He has also recently become Jared Eickhoff's personal catcher.

Phillies' Odubel Herrera: Takes flies in right field Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Herrera, who is not in the starting lineup Saturday, was seen taking fly balls in right field before the game, according to Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia.

Herrera has made seven errors in center field this season after making just five all last season. He's hitting enough to keep a starting job, but the defense may cost him some at-bats. A move out of a premium defensive position might be the best course of action for manager Pete Mackanin; he can keep Herrera's bat in the lineup without leaving the defense vulnerable up the middle.

Phillies' Adam Morgan: Heading to the bullpen
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morgan will be available out of the bullpen beginning Sunday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

The writing for this move was on the wall, as manager Pete Mackanin didn't hide his displeasure with Morgan's performance Wednesday. With Vince Velasquez (biceps) set to return Monday, Morgan will indeed move into a relief role and it sounds like he could end up sticking in the bullpen long term. The results for Morgan as a starter in the majors and at the Triple-A level have left a lot to be desired.
