Rangers' Shin-Soo Choo: Set to rejoin club
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Choo (forearm) will rejoin the Rangers on Thursday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

With two hits (including a homer) in five at-bats during an instructional league game Wednesday, Choo was able to convince the Rangers' brass that he can contribute in some capacity over the final days of the regular season. It's uncertain, however, how much he'll play during the team's final series. Choo has been limited to just 45 games so far this year due to calf, hamstring, back and forearm injuries.

Rangers' Tony Barnette: Returns from oblique injury
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Barnette returned from an oblique injury to pick up a win in Tuesday's game after tossing a scoreless sixth inning while allowing two hits and striking out two.

A.J. Griffin did not pitch long enough to qualify for the win, so Barnette moved to 7-3 on the season after his scoreless sixth. Look for him to continue to work in middle relief for the Rangers over the season's final days.

Rangers' A.J. Griffin: Serves up two homers in no-decision against Brewers
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Griffin allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts over 4.1 innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Brewers.

Griffin has lasted five innings just once in his past four starts, in which he has allowed 17 runs in as many innings. He was undone by a pair of home runs Monday and has now given up seven blasts in that four start stretch. Griffin is averaging just 87.7 mph on his fastball this year and it looks like hitters have figured out his brand of junkballing.

Rangers' Carlos Gomez: Homers in win over Brewers
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gomez hit a three-run homer, his 12th, in a 1-for-4 game Tuesday against the Brewers.

Gomez had just seven home runs in 90 games through August. With Tuesday's blast, he already has five homers in September to go with five doubles and 13 RBI. He's playing like the All-Star the Astros hoped Gomez would be for them, and he looks like he has locked himself into the Rangers leadoff spot for the stretch run and the playoffs.

Rangers' Jeremy Jeffress: Makes return from restricted list with solid outing
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jeffress tossed 1.1 scoreless innings in his return from the restricted list Monday.

Jeffress' performance this week will likely determine if he'll be added to Texas' bullpen mix for the first round of the postseason that begins next week.
