Scott Miller's Take
It may look on paper as if the Sox are taking a step back as they blend youngsters Chris Getz (second base) and Josh Fields (third base) into the mix with veterans Paul Konerko, Jim Thome and A.J. Pierzynski. Don't fall for it. These Sox have a nice mix of starting pitching (Mark Buehrle, John Danks, Gavin Floyd) and, especially, bullpen help (Bobby Jenks, Octavio Dotel, Scott Linebrink, Matt Thornton) to remain in contention. Manager Ozzie Guillen's biggest issue is in center field, where Jerry Owens can field but can't hit, DeWayne Wise shows flashes but not consistency and Brian Anderson played himself out of serious contention. In a perfect Sox world, the center fielder would hit leadoff, because they lack that, too. Don't be surprised if they make a move for a CF. If Carlos Quentin repeats his MVP-caliber season before getting hurt in 2008, look out.
2008 record: 88-74, .543 pct. (1st in AL Central) As White Sox manager: Ozzie Guillen, entering 6th year (433-378) Stadium: U.S. Cellular Field (40,615; grass)
The Sox are off to a great start preping their squad for 2010. Forget the fact that the players signed are old. They are known as smart ball players, fundamentally sound, and will hopefully show by example and teach the younger core base. That is the true need this team had; even more so than a CF or speed. The big moves were already made with Peavy and Rios. KW does

I was bored today and decided to look back at all of kenny's trades since he has been here. Looking through the list i have discovered kenny hasnt traded any prospect that has amounted to anything. Look through the list there isnt anyone. Maybe that shows how bad our system is, maybe its dumb luck, but looking through the list he hasnt done us wrong yet. The only real deal that backfired was the k

After hearing several reported rumors on the radio, tv talk shows and these message boards I must ask Sox fans a question. What the heck is Kenny Williams and Jerry Reinsdorf doing? I don't see a point to their decision making. Here is my point...
There a rumors flying around about A. Gonzales and Jenks for Crawford. But everyone (including fans and management) who say it's to

The Sox signed Vizquel to teach Ramirez how to play baseball,he had to much sucess to quick 2 years ago and it went to his head.He is a Lazy hotdoging player who killed us last year.Ozzie better sit his butt this year real quick if he doesnt play hard again this year.
Let's not get to excited Sox fans. It seems every time a trade involving the Sox "leaks" out, it never happens. Kenny keeps way to quiet. None of us would have predicted the 2nd Jake Peavy deal. The Alex Rios waiver claim or the Teahan trade. We had no
