The pitching looks pretty good, but the small-ball plan still looks questionable. Willy Taveras still hasn’t proven he can get on base consistently, and the Reds haven’t proven they have any way to replace Adam Dunn’s production. Joey Votto and Jay Bruce are going to have to be every bit as good as they were last year -- or maybe better. And Aaron Harang has to go from being a 17-game loser to being the 16-game winner he was in 2006-07.
2008 record: 74-88, .457 pct. (5th in NL Central) As Reds manager: Dusty Baker, entering 2nd year (74-88) Stadium: Great American Ball Park (42,941; grass)
