--3B Chone Figgins entered Sunday's game tied with Twins C Joe Mauer for the best batting average in the majors since May 15. Figgins was on base three times Sunday (a single and two walks) and has hits in 33 of his past 36 games, batting .401 (55 for 137) since May 15.

--The Angels have reached contract agreements with 20 of their picks in this year's draft, including the first of their two first-round picks, OF Randal Grichuk (the 24th pick overall). Grichuk will receive a signing bonus of $1.225 million.

MEDICAL WATCH:

RHP Ervin Santana (right elbow soreness) was scratched from his scheduled June 16 start. An MRI did not show any structural damage, and he did not go on the disabled list. Santana pitched a bullpen session June 21 and said he's ready to return to the rotation. He will be out until at least June 23.

RHP Kelvim Escobar (right shoulder soreness) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 6. He is not expected back until June 27 at the earliest.

RHP Shane Loux (right shoulder inflammation) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 17. He began a rehab assignment with Class A Rancho Cucamonga on June 19.

RHP Scot Shields (left knee tendinitis) went on the 15-day disabled list May 26. He had season-ending surgery June 16 and was moved to the 60-day DL.

RHP Dustin Moseley (nerve irritation in right elbow) went on the 15-day disabled list April 18, and he was transferred to the 60-day disabled list June 6. He had a setback in mid-May during his rehab at extended spring training. He was cleared to start light throwing in late May but was shut down again because of pain traveling from his neck to his elbow.
