Roster · Notes, quotes · Inside pitch

--Going into Monday's game, 3B Chone Figgins and Mariners OF Ichiro Suzuki were tied for the highest batting average since May 15 at .401. Figgins had hits in 33 of 36 games before going hitless in three at-bats in Monday's loss. Suzuki and the Mariners were off Monday.

--2B Howie Kendrick was 4-for-4 with Class AAA Salt Lake on Sunday and is hitting .333 (12 for 36) with five doubles, one home run and seven RBIs in nine games since being demoted by the Angels. Kendrick was hitting .231 with the Angels at the time of his demotion.

--OF Juan Rivera was hitless in four at-bats Monday. Even with that, he is a career .336 hitter (43 for 128) in interleague play.

MEDICAL WATCH:

RHP Ervin Santana (right elbow soreness) was scratched from his scheduled June 16 start. An MRI did not show any structural damage, and he did not go on the disabled list. Santana pitched a bullpen session June 21 and said he's ready to return to the rotation, but was instead placed on the 15-day disabled list on June 22, retroactive to June 12.

RHP Kelvim Escobar (right shoulder soreness) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 6. He is not expected back until June 27 at the earliest.

RHP Shane Loux (right shoulder inflammation) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 17. He began a rehab assignment with Class A Rancho Cucamonga on June 19.

RHP Scot Shields (left knee tendinitis) went on the 15-day disabled list May 26. He had season-ending surgery June 16 and was moved to the 60-day DL.

RHP Dustin Moseley (nerve irritation in right elbow) went on the 15-day disabled list April 18, and he was transferred to the 60-day disabled list June 6. He had a setback in mid-May during his rehab at extended spring training. He was cleared to start light throwing in late May but was shut down again because of pain traveling from his neck to his elbow.
