--RHP Ervin Santana threw a 48-pitch bullpen session and said afterward that his arm felt "bueno." Santana is on track to start Friday, bumping RHP Matt Palmer from the rotation (not RHP Sean O'Sullivan). But Angels manager Mike Scioscia refuses to say when Santana will pitch other than that it will be during the four-game weekend series against the Orioles.

--C Mike Napoli was hit in the right kneecap by a pitch during his final at-bat. He will be re-evaluated Wednesday, but Angels manager Mike Scioscia said Napoli's knee was already bruised and "it's going to be pretty sore."

--3B Chone Figgins was hitless in five at-bats and has just one hit in 21 at-bats on this trip. Even with the slump over the past five games, Figgins batted .333 (34-for-102) during June.

MEDICAL WATCH:

C Mike Napoli (bruised right knee) was hurt June 30 but didn't leave the game. He will be re-evaluated July 1.

RHP Ervin Santana (right triceps inflammation) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 12. He began a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona League on June 28, and he will be activated during the weekend of July 3-5.

RHP Kelvim Escobar (right shoulder soreness) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 6. He then had a setback in his rehab and is out indefinitely.

RHP Shane Loux (right shoulder inflammation) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 17. He began a minor league rehab assignment June 19.

RHP Scot Shields (left knee tendinitis) went on the 15-day disabled list May 26. He had season-ending surgery June 16 and was moved to the 60-day DL.

RHP Dustin Moseley (nerve irritation in right elbow) went on the 15-day disabled list April 18, and he was transferred to the 60-day disabled list June 6. He had a setback in mid-May during his rehab at extended spring training. He was cleared to start light throwing in late May but was shut down again because of pain traveling from his neck to his elbow.
