--SS Erick Aybar left Friday's game in the fourth inning with dizziness. Aybar appeared to be kicked or kneed in the head by A's SS Orlando Cabrera as Aybar slid into second base and tried to break up a double play. Before leaving the game, Aybar extended his hitting streak to seven games with a single. He has hits in 14 of his past 16 games and 15 hits in his past 25 at-bats, raising his average for the season to .302.
--LHP Joe Saunders tied a career-high with six walks in six innings Friday. Saunders has been fighting command issues over his past eight starts (26 walks and 12 home runs). "It just makes your life harder when you can't command the ball in the strike zone," Saunders said.
--1B Kendry Morales was 2-for-3 Friday with a solo home run, a single and a walk. That extends Morales' career-high hitting streak to 17 games, the longest by an Angel this season. Morales is batting .354 (23-for-65) during the hitting streak.
--C Jeff Mathis was 1-for-3 with two stolen bases Friday. It was the first time in his career Mathis has stolen two bases in a game. But the A's also stole four times against him including one by Rajai Davis who stole third on Mathis' throw back to LHP Joe Saunders following a pitch.
--RHP Renedin Mesa was one of five minor-leaguers suspended for 50 games after testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug. Mesa, 17, was 2-3 with a 4.36 ERA in eight starts for the Angels' Dominican Summer League team since signing as a free agent earlier this year.
