Angels report: Notes, quotes
--Manager Mike Scioscia was outspoken in his criticism of the postseason schedule, drawn out to accommodate TV coverage. "It's just something that seems like it's gotten away a little bit," Scioscia said. "Eight games in 21 days (since the end of the regular season) is something you never expect in a baseball season."
--RHP John Lackey was the likely starter on three days' rest if the Angels had been able to force a Game 7, "I knew a little something, yeah," he said after the Game 6 loss. "One game -- you never know what can happen," Lackey said. "It would have been nice. But we weren't able to get there."
--SS Erick Aybar shocked everyone by showing up for batting practice before Game 6 with his dreadlocks shaved off. Aybar joked that Vladimir Guerrero had talked him into it. Guerrero cut off his dreadlocks earlier this season.
BY THE NUMBERS
.378 -- DH Vladimir Guerrero's postseason batting average this year. Guerrero hit .240 in 20 postseason games before this fall.
QUOTE TO NOTE
"We just battled. We had a big mountain to climb. We overcame Boston. We came over here and played some of the best games I've ever played in my career. There's nothing to hang our heads low about." -- CF Torii Hunter
