--DH Bobby Abreu has just one home run this season, and the Angels have just two from their DHs this year -- both in the first series of the season (Abreu's on April 2 in Kansas City and one from Torii Hunter the next day). Going into Monday's games, only two AL teams had fewer home runs from their DHs (the Royals and Mariners).

--SS Erick Aybar extended his hitting streak to eight games by going 1-for-4 Monday. Aybar's .352 average leads all major league shortstops and includes a .360 mark (27-for-75) in 18 games since coming off the disabled list. He had been out with an oblique strain.

--RHP Ervin Santana took the loss in Monday's 8-0 defeat against the White Sox. It was the second time this season Santana was on the losing side of a shutout and the fourth time he has left a start with the Angels having been held scoreless. He has given up 16 runs in those four starts (even including his four no-hit innings in last week's extra-inning game in Boston).

--1B Mark Trumbo was hitless in three at-bats Monday, snapping his seven-game hitting streak, a career high for the rookie. Trumbo is still batting .379 (11-for-29) in his past eight games.

--RF Torii Hunter went 0-for-3 and hit into his big-league-leading 12th double play Monday. Two of Hunter's at-bats came with runners in scoring position. He struck out and bounced into the double play and is now batting .178 (8-for-45) with RISP this season.

4 -- Times the Angels have been shut out in their first 36 games this season after Monday's 8-0 loss to the White Sox. They were not shut out for a fourth time last season until Aug. 13, 117 games into the season.

"I did not think he would chase me." -- Angels RF Torii Hunter, on dumping ice water on Mike Scioscia after Scioscia's 1,000th managerial victory Sunday.
