MEDICAL WATCH:

--INF/OF Howie Kendrick (right hamstring tightness) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 20.

--1B Kendrys Morales (fractured left ankle) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 22. He was never able to progress to running the bases in workouts, let alone playing in games during spring training or on a rehab assignment. He had a second surgery on his ankle May 26 to address continued discomfort and lack of mobility. Morales will not play until the 2012 season.

--RHP Francisco Rodriguez (right shoulder inflammation) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 10. He will treat the problem with rest and rehab.

--LF Vernon Wells (right groin strain) went on the 15-day disabled list May 10. An MRI showed no major damage. Wells has stepped up his workouts and was running the curve of the basepaths on the outfield grass at nearly full speed the last weekend of May. He will begin taking batting practice in the first week of June and could go on a rehab assignment within the next week. Wells ran the bases at nearly full speed before the game on May 30.

--LHP Scott Kazmir (lower back stiffness) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 4. He pitched in extended spring training April 19-28, and he began a rehab assignment with Class AAA Salt Lake on May 24. Kazmir was scheduled to make his second rehab start with Class AAA Salt Lake (Salt Lake City) on May 29. Kazmir lasted just 1 2/3 innings in his first start May 24, allowing six runs on two hits, four walks and a hit batter while throwing 50 pitches (only 24 strikes).

--3B Freddy Sandoval (left side muscle strain) was injured March 3, and he went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 22.
