--CF Darin Erstad missed his second straight game with a sore left ankle. Manager Mike Scioscia indicated Erstad would be out a few days, but the injury wasn't expected to be long term. Erstad missed eight days in spring training due to a problem with the same ankle.

--2B Howie Kendrick has been working out at first and third base as the Angels explore ways of getting his bat in the lineup. Kendrick, who played second exclusively in the minor leagues, played shortstop in high school but has never played first or third.

--After RHP Chris Bootcheck gave up four runs in the ninth inning during a mop-up role Tuesday, his ERA was 54.00.

---C Jeff Mathis' average has fallen to .103. He shares the position with Jose Molina, who is also hitting below .200.

--There are 10 active major league players who have played at least 15 consecutive years with their original team, and the Angels have two of them. Tim Salmon joined the Angels in 1989 and Garret Anderson in 1990. The leader is Bernie Williams, who joined the Yankees in 1986.

BY THE NUMBERS
9 -- Number of baserunners catcher Jose Molina had picked off since the start of the 2004 season (through April 28).

QUOTE TO NOTE
"I deserve to get booed. I got my butt kicked." -- RHP Jeff Weaver after giving up eight runs in 2 1/3 innings to the White Sox.

I just heard on the Mason and Ireland show that the Angels should trade for Scott Rolen to play 3rd base and be the big bat in the line up. That would move Figgy over to second base and shelf Kendrick for the season. I agree the Angels need a big bat now that Vlad keeps gett ...(more)

This From MLB.com:

The Blue Jays are not shopping Roy Halladay. That is one thing general manager J.P. Ricciardi wanted to make clear on Tuesday afternoon. What Ricciardi is willing to do is answer his phone and entertain any trade proposal

I do not usually disagree with the Angels but in this case, Aybar is a waste and he will hurt them in the end. Eventhgough his error last night did not cost them,  almost everynight he does something to hurt them. Either its with his bast in big situation or his glove. In addition the Angels have young players i.e. Wood that needs to g ...(more)

What were they thinking a fast ball right down the middle. Come on Scioscia you know better than that, we gave another game away. I guess we did not want to walk him a .200 hitter was up next.

I'm using this ID since I got bumped down to rookie on my other one.

But how do you guys think the AL West will shape out after this week?

We play Texas at home for 3 then the Yankees at home for 3.

Texas comes to LA for 3 then goes to Seattle for 4.

And Seattle hosts Baltimore for 3 then hosts Te

They have no idea what to do next so they bring Howie Kendrick back up to the Angels.  Once again you have Aybar and Kendrick as the DP combination.  Between them, if brains were gunpowder, they couldn't blow their noses.

The Angels pasted on Peavy and

While the Angels will contend for the Division throughout, Rangers still own you guys.  I mean they have been teabagging the Angels all year.  7-2 against the Halos, and man does their starting rotation suck.  What happened to Santana?  Wasnt he good last year?

I heard the Angels were after Dan Haren from the Diamondbacks, but talks were broke off. Has anyone else heard of this?

(POLL) In which order do you think that the Angels should prioritize resigning Figgins, Vladdy, and Abreu? I think we all know now that Lackey will be first since Vlad seemed to have lost his power stroke. I voted 1 becouse IMO Figgins is the team Offensive MVP behid Hunter.  Let me know wht you think.

I realize that all the Angels problems are not the fault of Aybar, but with the return of Kendrick tonight we need to start Maicer Izturis at short and Kendrick at second. Aybar error last night set the t ...(more)

i would like to take this time to congratulate myself for defending this guy on this board earlier this year and saying everything would be fine.   Everything is fine, and before long, it will be better than fine.

The Fuentes selection really surprised me. He is leading the AL in saves, but he has not had an All-Star caliber season. I thought J-Weav had it locked up, but his last two outings costed him. Torii should be starting, of course, but Josh Hamilton somehow got more votes...fans are idiots, for the most part, and shouldn't be decid ...(more)

Yes, the Angeles are now in first place in the AL West.  Yes, they went 12 - 3 against the NL West.  Does this mean they have finally but things together or simply lessor compitition?

The Angels have 13 games before the AS break; 6 with the Rangers, 4 with t

O's fan here, not trying to stir anything up just trying to get some ideas from you guys. The Os are obviously out of it this yr like usual but for the first time in a long time we have a direction. We have some good young players and some studs in AAA looking like they will be ready next yr. My question is what positions will you guys be shopping for? I read something saying you guys would be sho ...(more)

Way to go Angel fans. You sell your tickets rather than support your team. I felt like it was Dodger home game at our ballpark. How many season seat holders gave their tickets to Dodger fans. It felt like a playoff game and the Halos preformed like it was. No clutch hitting   No ace pitcher One boring offense until the 8th inning and of course Angel fans will blame the ss for not coming throu ...(more)
