--C Brian McCann, who got Monday's start off, was back in the starting lineup Tuesday before the game was rained out. Coming into the game, he led the majors in batting average with runners in scoring position with a hefty .579 (11 for 19) and a .789 slugging percentage. He's had one home run and 13 RBI in those situations.
--LF Martin Prado has been the Braves' bellwether through the first month of the season. In the team's 15 wins, Prado is batting .355 with two home runs, six doubles and eight RBI. In their 15 losses, he has hit only .154 with three doubles, five RBI and 11 strikeouts.
--SS Alex Gonzalez's three-run double in the sixth inning Monday versus the Brewers was his 20th at-bat with the bases loaded in his season and a half with the Braves. It was the first time he'd had an extra-base hit in that situation for Atlanta.
--INF Brooks Conrad's game-winning, pinch-hit RBI single Sunday versus the Cardinals was his second career walk-off pinch hit; the first was that grand slam versus the Reds on May 20 last season. Elias Sports Bureau says Conrad is the first Brave with two walk-off pinch-hits since Brian Hunter had three in a much longer span: 1992 to 2000.
--C David Ross appears to be the Braves' good luck charm: The team is 5-1 in his six starts backing up C Brian McCann, and he is batting .318 (7 for 22) with three home runs and eight RBI in those games.
BY THE NUMBERS
3 -- Home runs hit by backup C David Ross in 22 at-bats.
