MEDICAL WATCH:

--C Brian McCann (back stiffness) did not play May 29. He is day-to-day. He returned to the lineup on May 30.

--LHP Eric O'Flaherty (back soreness) was unavailable May 28-29.

--RHP Tim Hudson (sore back) returned to Atlanta on May 22 for tests, and he missed his scheduled start May 25. An MRI exam showed no major damage. He threw a bullpen session, and he is scheduled to pitch again May 30.

--CF Nate McLouth (strained left oblique) went on the 15-day disabled list May 23.

--RF Jason Heyward (sore right shoulder) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 22. A second MRI on May 27 showed the same thing as the first one -- inflammation -- but he still hadn't begun workouts as of May 29.

--RHP Brandon Beachy (strained left oblique) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 14. Manager Fredi Gonzalez said Beachy could be out for a month. He had not began throwing as of May 26.

--RHP Kris Medlen (Tommy John surgery in August 2010) went on the 15-day disabled list March 27. He is on a normal recovery schedule, meaning that he might return in August 2011. He began throwing from a mound in early April. Medlen threw 80 curve balls in a side session on May 27, the first time he's thrown breaking stuff since the surgery, and said he felt great afterward.

--RHP Peter Moylan (bulging disk in lower back) went on the 15-day disabled list April 15. He had surgery May 17, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on May 23.
