It was a tight game.
And they held on.
The only blip on the radar for the bullpen was right-hander Koji Uehara, who allowed his first earned run of the season in the eighth inning.
Otherwise, it was a solid night for the Orioles' bullpen in the wake of left-hander Zach Britton's solid outing. Britton won for the third time in four starts in the majors.
Right-hander Jim Johnson retired the Twins in order on eight pitches in the seventh, and Gregg needed only 12 pitches in the ninth. It was his second save.
The Orioles will close out the four-game set with Minnesota on Thursday with a shot to win a series for only the third time this season, and the first time since taking two-of-three against Detroit in the season's first week.
The Orioles also will have a shot to even their record at .500, the underlying goal for the 2011 season.
