MEDICAL WATCH:

--CF Adam Jones didn't start May 30 after leaving Sunday's game because of right shoulder soreness. He hoped to play May 31.

--1B Derrek Lee (left oblique strain) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 17. He was scheduled to start baseball activities May 29 in extended spring training.

--2B Brian Roberts (concussion-like symptoms) went on the seven-day disabled list retroactive to May 17. He was shut down from baseball activities until early June, and he is unlikely to be activated before mid-June.

--LHP Brian Matusz (strained left intercostal muscle) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 30. He threw bullpen sessions April 28 and April 30. He threw two innings of a simulated game in extended spring training May 7, and he threw a side session May 13. He began a rehab assignment with Class A Frederick on May 16. He pitched for Class AA Bowie on May 21, and he started for Class AAA Norfolk on May 27. He hopes to start for the Orioles on June 1.

--INF Cesar Izturis (ulnar nerve injury in right elbow) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 17, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on May 21. He had surgery May 24. He might resume workouts in July, and he hopes to return to action before the end of the season.

--RHP Justin Duchscherer (sore left hip, sore back) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 22 and was moved to the 60-day list on April 18. He underwent a medical procedure April 7 to relieve back pain. He threw batting practice April 30 and reported no difficulties. He threw two innings in extended spring training May 13, but he was scratched from a scheduled May 18 appearance.
