MEDICAL WATCH:

LF Manny Ramirez (sore right hamstring) was the DH instead of the left fielder on July 1-3.

RHP Mike Timlin (left knee tendinitis) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 17. He was activated on July 3.

DH David Ortiz (tear in left wrist tendon sheath) went on 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 1. He said June 25 that he was at least two to three weeks away from getting into a game. He might need some at-bats in the minors before rejoining the Red Sox.

RHP Bartolo Colon (lower back stiffness) went on the 15-day disabled list June 17. He threw from flat ground on July 4 and hoped to begin a rehab assignment in the near future.

RHP Curt Schilling (sore right shoulder) began experiencing discomfort during the offseason, and he opened the season on the 60-day disabled list. He began throwing in early May, and he threw off a mound for the first time June 4. He experienced a setback in mid-June, and he had season-ending surgery June 23.

(POLL) Now as some of you know me to be a Yankees fan, but one that isn't a jerk, but I wanted to ask you guys if you notice a trend here.  Besides the dominance over us. I remember reading the spirited debate over the winter about whether the Sox should make a play for Adam Dunn. The detractors bashed Dunn for his .230 type average and 125 K's a year. We don't need him since we have Big Papi was the battle cry. Well, hindsight being 20/20...

Dunn is an automatic 40 HR a year guy. He al

With the return of John Smoltz looming (June 16th), and the total lack of production from Big Pop Up, the Sox will be looking to deal in the next 2 months.

I wanna ask u RedSox fans if u think they made the right decision to pick Youk over Cabbie. I think its a pretty obvious decision that Madden stuck within the division cuz look at the numbers. You may think Youk can play 1st and 3rd which could help but Cabbie has played 3rd his whole career til last year. Just wondering the explanation cuz I think its a joke

Why are A.L. West teams having their way with the Boston Red Sox this season? They seem to be laying down for their western counterparts as if they were  Paris Hilton is front of a home video camera. To take a break from the monotony that is the regular season before the pennant race really starts to heat up, watching a current player on the team got me thinking about who my all-time favorite Red Sox line-up is for players that I have watched during their playing days.  I didn't see any related threads so my apology if this is not ...(more)
