Right-hander Aaron Harang has tightness in his forearm and won't make his scheduled start Saturday against the Nationals.

Manager Dusty Baker says it isn't serious and that Harang will start Tuesday in Wrigley Field against the Cubs. Harang spent Friday morning on a training-room table taking treatment.

"Harang has had a little stiffness in his forearm muscle, the same thing he had a couple of years ago," said Baker. "I'm told they skipped him a start and he was fine the rest of the year."

Josh Fogg comes off the disabled list to start Saturday's game after missing more than a month with lower back tightness.

"A month in the minors went good; now it's time to test the big-league level again," said Fogg. "My first round (with the Reds) was not too successful (1-2, 9.85 ERA, four starts, seven relief appearances). Let's hope my second round is better."

REDS 3, NATIONALS 0: RHP Bronson Arroyo pitched six scoreless innings, giving up five hits, and got the offensive support he needed in the first inning on a double by CF Jay Bruce and a home run by RF Ken Griffey Jr., the 604th of his career.

PHILADELPHIA -- The Reds have signed veteran right-handed pitcher Kip Wells to a Minor League contract.

Wells, who signed Tuesday, is on the Triple-A Louisville roster. The 32-year-old was designated for assignment by the ...(more)

I have stayed off of Dusty's back this year, frankly because he hadn't done anything too idiotic to tick me off... until last night.

Explain to me a few things:

1.  The only person in our dugout who had seen last night's pitcher more than 2 or 3 times was Jonny Gomes... and he was hitting over

So, I figure after this historically awful series against the Phillies we needed something to make us feel better.  Here is what I got: Todd Coffey.  Just the name itself makes me want to laugh, because I just picture a chubby man waddling out to the mound ready ...(more)

Okay, we are entering July and somehow, someway, we are in contention.  I would say that this 6 game homestand is vitally important for the franchise.  I say this because I think that Walt Jocketty and Castellini are watching these games to see if we should go ahead with a trade, or whether one guy is not going to be enough to put us over the top in the central.  Really, winning the ...(more)

(First paragraph) So Edwin "I am not going to bother to spell his last name" is back at third with his .125 average, and O-4 at the plate, one strikeout and one throwing error.

(Next paragraph) I see the Reds had one error as a team yesterday and when I saw Edwin in the line up I didn't even have to look.  W

So, they were talking on the radio today about the Reds picking up Roy Halladay.  I believe that this is highly, highly unlikely, but it got me thinking about what we could offer, and what our rotation would look like with him out there.  Here is what I would give ...(more)

We had a few potentials last night.  Too bad it didn't work out.  I was pulling for EE.  Nice to see his bat come alive.

Tonight I will go with Joey Votto.  I predict a big game from Joey.

I don't care what anyone says, this is NOT the same pitcher from even 2 games ago.  I was at the Indians game last Saturday when he pitched and he was freakin' laboring through 5 innings.  I just figured he was able to squeak out a win because of all the run support and the fact the Indians sucked so bad.  Can learning a spli ...(more)

The worst defeat in 100 years doesn't mean the season is over. It should be a wake up call....it's not like this isn't a trend...there have been several bowouts lately, and it isn't luck...it's the way this team plays.

I hope the players, coaches and especially the manager Dusty Baker, GM Walt Jocketty, and owner Bob Castellini are more embarrassed than us fans are (If that is possible
