Right-hander Aaron Harang has tightness in his forearm and won't make his scheduled start Saturday against the Nationals.

Manager Dusty Baker says it isn't serious and that Harang will start Tuesday in Wrigley Field against the Cubs. Harang spent Friday morning on a training-room table taking treatment.

"Harang has had a little stiffness in his forearm muscle, the same thing he had a couple of years ago," said Baker. "I'm told they skipped him a start and he was fine the rest of the year."

Josh Fogg comes off the disabled list to start Saturday's game after missing more than a month with lower back tightness.

"A month in the minors went good; now it's time to test the big-league level again," said Fogg. "My first round (with the Reds) was not too successful (1-2, 9.85 ERA, four starts, seven relief appearances). Let's hope my second round is better."

REDS 3, NATIONALS 0: RHP Bronson Arroyo pitched six scoreless innings, giving up five hits, and got the offensive support he needed in the first inning on a double by CF Jay Bruce and a home run by RF Ken Griffey Jr., the 604th of his career.

I read a blurb in SI that the Reds are interested in obtaining Blue Jays SS Marco Scutaro, with no further info given.

Has anybody else heard of this rumor and if it's true, what should they be willing to

***Mark McGwire's Five-Step Approach To Hitting***
The Mac is back!  Big Mac, Mark McGwire is back with the Cardinals to be their hitting coach.  McGwire has always been a fan favorite in St. Louis, but it’s almost a written fact that he t

Doesn anyone know when the Reds check into their AZ spring home yet? I know the series isn't even over yet but I just get excited for some odd reason. I guess its because its been about 7 months since the Reds were in contention for anything important. Seriously, if any of you know this, it will be greatly appreciatted.

may be on the line according to a Chicago Tribune writer.  If you go to mlbtraderumors.com and click on the Reds rumors there is a short article saying Castellini may be eyeing the combo of LaRussa and Dave Duncan. I know Duncan is unhappy with the Cards for dealing away his son.  Would love to have him in Cincy.

The news says that the Cardinals will have a press conference this afternoon, presumably to announce Tony LaRussa's re-signing as manager of the team, and possibly to announce Mark McGwire will join the coaching staff as a hitting coach, replacing ex-Red and Royal Hal McRae.

I suppose this dispells any discussion /hope

I don't really follow the Reds much. But as a Jays fan we need a closer and I was wondering if the Reds were thinking of keeping Cordero, even though he will turn 35 and is getting paid 11,5million a year.

He had a good year this year and was an all-star so I would like to know if the Reds faithful think they will keep him

Here's an article I put out about some Reds' prospects/minor leaguers in the Winter Dominican League. Of course, Kevin Barker, minor-league extraordinaire, is killing it so far. Even if you think the article sucks, you have to like the link to Jose Lima's ex-wife at the end ...(more)

For what it's worth (virtually nothing), Heisey is playing really well. Ondrusek and Watson are stinking it up thus far. It seems like a hitter's league, however, as all the team's carry high averages. Or maybe that's just an excuse for our prospects to stink it up.

Reds president of baseball operations and general manager Walt Jocketty did not set a strict timetable to hire a new Major League pitching coach when he spoke about the topic on Monday from organizational meetings at Cincinnati's new complex in Goodyear, Ariz.

"We want to get it done sooner than later," Jocketty said. & ...(more)

(POLL) Given the outlook at the beginning of the season for this Reds team, how do you think we did as a team. I know that we were all excited at the first half of the year as the Reds surged into first place for a few games and are all extremely disappointed at the way they fell apart in the second half, but given your expectations at the beginni ...(more)
