--RF Jay Bruce hit his National League-leading 15th home run Sunday night. It gave Bruce 11 home runs and 29 RBI in May.
--RHP Sam LeCure was placed on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 23 with a strained right forearm. LeCure hurt himself May 22. He hasn't pitched since.
--LHP Jeremy Horst went 2 2/3 innings and allowed one run in his major league debut. He also singled in a run.
--RHP Edinson Volquez went eight innings and allowed two runs on five hits in his first start since being optioned to Class AAA. "He pitched very well," Reds general manager Walt Jocketty said. "(Scout) Terry Reynolds saw him and said it was the best he's thrown all year."
