MEDICAL WATCH:

RHP Fausto Carmona (strained left hip) went on the 15-day disabled list May 24. He threw a simulated game June 16, but he suffered a setback and was shut down from throwing. He resumed throwing June 27, and manager Eric Wedge said he could return to the Indians shortly after the All-Star break.

C Victor Martinez (inflamed right elbow) went on the 15-day disabled list June 12. He had arthroscopic surgery on June 13 to remove "loose bodies," and he is expected to miss six to eight weeks.

2B Josh Barfield (ligament damage in left middle finger) went on the 15-day disabled list June 12. He had surgery June 17, and he will miss six to eight weeks.

DH Travis Hafner (right shoulder irritation) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 26. He was examined by Dr. James Andrews on June 18 and it was determined he would not need surgery on his injured right shoulder. However, there was no target date for his return.

RHP Jake Westbrook (sore right elbow) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 29, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on June 13. He had season-ending Tommy John surgery June 12.

Former Indians pitcher Tim Belcher is the team’s new pitching coach, the first member of manager Manny Acta’s staff.

Belcher has spent the past eight years as a special assistant to baseball operations in the Indians organization. He was responsible for evaluating players in Cleveland’s system and scouted other teams ...(more)

There were ex-Indians scattered all over the place in the post season.  Why do the Indians let all these guys go instead of keeping them, winning, selling out the stadium and making millions?  You had that formula going like a charm in the 90s.  Wha' happened?  Doesn't the current owner want to make money?

Ok I want Grady Sizemore on my team being logical what will it take to pry him away from the Indians. Lets say that I'm a GM and am willing to make a fair offer. I have some young talent as well as some veterans, I have outfielders, infielders, and pitching. Throw out some ...(more)

No, its the truth.... Washington Nationals (former) skipper who lost 103 games this year is set to meet Cleveland Indians General Manager, Mark Shapiro, for the 2010 opening managerial position. As if 97 games losses weren't enough? It was 97 games (I think). Regardless, Dolan must t ...(more)

Wait, it can, you guys have arguably the worst team in the NFL with the worst coach, and you just traded your best player to the Jets for nothing.

Well, we got our latino influence now on the team now.

Thank god. I no longer have to watch this terrible excuse of a baseball team. I hope Eric Wedge and his coaches have their lockers already cleaned out, so we can hire someone who is baseball smart and will actually manage the game isn't of standing around looking stupid, in some wind breaker trash bag looking outfit, the sad news however is that 2010 will be much like this season.

Am I alone in wanting to see C.C. choke in the playoffs again?  He always tenses up and over-throws in the post-season.  NY media breathing down his neck, the expectations of living up to a contract bigger than the GDP of most third world countries.  Even Clemens had a hard time with the pressure.  I just hate the fact that the ...(more)

(POLL) Well the search is on.  Shapiro and Dolan said they want to have a new manager in place by the end of the World Series.  So who should it be?

Someone from within the club?
A former player?
A former manager?
Someone else?

Who do you want?
