--OF Ezequiel Carrera was optioned to Class AAA Columbus Thursday. Carrera was recalled from Columbus on May 20 and appeared in five games, going 2-for-8 with two RBI. At Columbus Carrera was hitting .317.
--OF Grady Sizemore is expected to be activated from the disabled list, probably Friday. The Indians cleared a roster spot for Sizemore by optioning OF Ezequiel Carrera to Class AAA Columbus Thursday. Sizemore has been on the disabled list since May 16 because of a right knee contusion.
--RHP Josh Tomlin will go for his seventh victory of the season Friday night at Tampa Bay. Tomlin (6-1) is 12-5 with a 3.60 ERA in 21 major league starts. He is also the first pitcher in Indians' history to pitch five or more innings in his first 21 major league starts, which is tied for the third longest such streak among major league pitchers since 1920.
--LHP Tony Sipp has not allowed a run in his last 12 appearances, a span that covers 12 innings. He has allowed only five hits in that span.
--RHP Chad Durbin has rebounded from a rocky first month of the season. After going 0-1 with an 8.38 ERA in April, Durbin is 2-0 with a 0.93 ERA in May.
