--RHP Justin Masterson, who did not lose a game in April, did not win a game in May. Masterson was 5-0 in five April starts and he was 0-3 in five May starts, including his 7-0 loss Sunday to Tampa Bay.
--C Lou Marson, the Indians' backup catcher, got a start Sunday as starting C Carlos Santana got a start at first base. Marson was 0-for-3, all his at bats coming against right-handed pitchers. Against right-handed pitching this season the right handed-hitting Marson is batting .031 (1-for-32).
--OF Grady Sizemore's first series since coming off the disabled list was a disaster. Sizemore was activated off the DL on Friday, after missing two weeks with a right knee contusion. In three games at Tampa Bay, Sizemore was used as the designated hitter and went 0-for-12, with seven strikeouts. In Sunday's game, Sizemore struck out four times in four at bats.
--RHP Fausto Carmona, who is 0-2 with a 5.20 ERA in four starts since his last win on May 3, will start Monday night against Toronto, a team Carmona should be happy to see. In five career starts versus the Blue Jays, Carmona is 3-0, with a 3.21 ERA.
--OF/1B Shelley Duncan has been one of the best pinch-hitters in the majors. As a pinch-hitter, Duncan is 4-for-5 (.800), with seven RBI.
