Is a trade or FA pick-up really prudent for Detroit at this point? Joe Dumars said they hired an expensive, high profile coach (Larry Brown) because they could smell the title. Maybe the Tigers should do the same and get the best player out there regardless of money. I think DD can smell a major post season run and he should cap

Is anyone else a little concerned that Verlander and Jackson have regressed a little in the past month. I see both guys noodling the edges instead of challenging batters. This noodling stuff pushes up thier pitch counts and costs them the ability to go deeper in games, something the Tigers realy need right now.

I know we all have said that the Tigers need to do something about the offense whether its through a trade or someone being promoted from the Minors, but what are your thoughts about Carlos Guillen? Could he help the anemic offense get its mojo back? Or are they still going

As we see the Tigers bullpen struggle big time lately what are your thoughts about bringing aboard BJ Ryan who the Blue Jays released earlier today. Maybe he could turn things around and help right the ship in the bullpen. I know he hasn't had very good stats so far this year but I t

Leyland announced that they will skip Porcello the next time through the rotation. This is a very smart move. With the off-day Thursday, it's a great opportunity to only go with 4 SP's this time through, and with the All-Star break next week it'll give Porcello almost 2 weeks between starts. Good opportunity to save the wear-and-tear on the young arm. Good job, Jim!

First of all - last night's game. Great job by both Zoom and Rodney, both of whom I have criticized before. What a pitcher Zumaya is when throwing strikes. Would someone tell Mario and Rod to stop wetting their pants every time Zoom hits 100 and instead concentrate on his pitch location.
Very un-Leyland line to remove French one out shy of his 1st MLB win. He usually gives young player

Something has to change. This offense is just offensive. 3 more DP tonight giving us the league lead. Mags despite his HR in Minnesota just has lost it. Polanco now down to 256. Guillen should help the offense. Marcus Thames with an ops of 812 probably the best answer at DH for now. Ryan rayburn probably should be starting

Well once again only scored in one inning against a rightie. This right handed lineup we have against lefties just not getiing it done. No 3 runs is not good enough. Another fine effort wasted by Edwin Jackson. The kid has a 2.59 ERA and the Tigers are 9-8 in his sta

Living on the east coast, this game went until 1:20 AM. I was pretty tired and just hoping for it to end some way in the 13th inning. 45 Minutes later, the Tigers put together a 3 run 16th to put away the pesky Twins at the "Dome"
the Tigers scored their first

Late Tuesday evening, the Tigers recalled Clete Thomas from Toledo (AAA) and sent Don Kelly back there. This should come to no surprise to Tigers fans, as Kelly has quickly cooled off and Thomas ha

Our pitching would be better off without him. Lyon or Miner could be the 8th inning guy. A lot of teams would be interested in Zoom, most believing they could teach him to throw strikes. What should we go after if we can trade him - LH bat with some pop or a bonafide closer. Some teams who will be sellers would be: Baltimore (Au

Brandon Inge is IN!! He deserves it no doubt and it has been a long-time coming. Thank you Michigan and Pennsylvania. Kinsler was deserving also and it's a shame one had to lose. Rangers fans, Kinsler will be there soon and often. Can't wait to see them both play in Arlington in late July--GO

I was just wondering if anyone here remembers the days, not too long ago, when most Tigers posters wanted to hang Brandon Inge by his thumbs. Man, I recall that when he balked at being a backup catcher, many people here called for his immediate castration. Oh....and when h

I woulkd expect, even though Edwin Jackson is pitching that the Tigers make a roster move. probably sending down Lucas French, although he will not go anywhere and bringing up a reliever for todays game. last night Lyon went 2, Dolsi 3, rodney 2, zumaya 2.1, Seay .2, Ni .2
